With all the talk of possible schism, an encouraging thought came to my mind: there are over 5,000 Bishops in the Catholic Church. I really wonder how many out of that 5,000 are bad apples? I would say a minority when compared to the total. I would say the majority of Catholic bishops worldwide are 100% Catholic. From my own personal experience I can say that the majority of priests and bishops in my life have been 100% Catholic. I am sure that this is the case in most cases.

I think what we are witnessing is not a schism but the appearance of schism. The problem is one of perception. The enemy thrives in an environment of fear and confusion.

You think we are experiencing not schism per se but something that has the appearance of a schism. Of course that was what seemed to be suggested : "something like a schism" from a description of a happening in the church by Conchita that related to the Warning.

I have to say, that is a fair point Joe. Good one for Garabandal.

I should have said the happening that seemed like a schism related to the Warning. This was the understanding of Dr Puncernau who interviewed Serafin, Conchita's brother, after she had confided in him. Serafin declined to either deny or confirm this understanding. It is not absolutely clear if Dr Puncernau meant to relate the happening to the Miracle or the Warning but perhaps the Miracle which is for the conversion of all will also be to turn back those who have turned away from the truth in this apparant schism. And yes Mac, I know what I am saying here. It could be that by the time of the warning the great majority of the church will have lost touch with the real truth but will still be calling themselves Catholic. The tiny minority who are convinced otherwise may be seen as schismatic whereas the majority will be shown to be wrong in the warning and their mistake confirmed in the miracle which will convert them. Thus what seemed like a schism will in fact be a stand by the very few for the truth. I am not confused but I fear I may have confused others. But we have definitely been told the warning is a preparation for the miracle and that the miracle is for the conversion of all and that that doubt in the miracle will not be caused by excessive delay. Many think they will be quite close....we know definitely within a year....but this happening seems to relate to both and suggests that although they will occur within a year of each other the actual wait fron warning to miracle will be much less than one year. Conchita talks about the happening relating to the Miracle. Dr Puncernau refers it to the Warning. But it all came in the same context of questions and answers.

I should have said it related to the Warning. (See edit). Source: page 190 She Went in Haste to the Mountain. It could be real close. Confession will be more frequent for me. BTW this page also gives witness to Padre Pio having seen the Miracle before his death just as it was said he would.

New Zealand has just won The Rugby World Cup in England playing against Australia. David and Goliath. Sorry for going off thread but its a great day for our nation. Perhaps the last before Tribulation. If only we could be as proud of our faith as we are of our football. Both countries openly celebrate homosexuality. The referee is openly homosexual. For me that was the fly in the ointment, not so much that he is that way inclined but the fact that this way is celebrated so much down under. I hope this victory is not used to support the homosexual lobby. But it will be. The Synod cannot stop that. Our National Anthem begins
"God of nations at Thy feet,
In the bonds of love we meet
    Hear our voices we entreat
    God defend our free land."
There are moves to change our flag, to remove the Southern Cross and to change our anthem to remove God.

My wee brother Ed and my nephew Andy were in the Royal Box at the game sitting two seats behind Prince Harry. Wish I had been with them but they will have sore heads tomorrow. Great game. I would have liked a final with Ireland but we would have beaten you too.(y) God loves a trier especially if he's an All Black.

There was some controversy when this aspect of paragraph 58 was first discussed in the Catholic media as the Italian document had not yet been "officially" translated into English.

"Bishop Michael G. Campbell from the Diocese of Lancaster in England has provided an English language translation of the 2015 Synod of Bishops’Relatio Finalis (or, ‘Final Report). Papal biographer and Church historian, Austen Ivereigh, who is fluent in both English and Italian, the language in which the report was composed, calls Bishop Campbell’s translation “an excellent, accurate rendition, and dependable.” But, he notes that “It is not, of course, the official Vatican one,” which continues to be the Italian original."

    Here's his translation:

"58. Within the prevailing cultural transformation models are regularly presented which contrast the Christian vision of the family. Sexuality is often detached from the context of genuine love. In some countries formative programmes are even imposed by public authority which call into question the freedom of the Church to give its own teaching and the right of conscientious objection on the part of educators. On the other hand, the family notwithstanding that it remains the primary pedagogical sorum, cannot be the only place for sexual education. For this reason it is essential to make use of true and genuine supportive pastoral courses, directed both to individuals and to couples, with particular attention to the age of puberty and adolescence, in which there is help to discover the beauty of sexuality in love. Christianity declares that God has created humanity, male and female, and has blessed them so as to form one flesh and transmit life (cf. Gn. 1:27-28; 2:24). Their difference, equal in personal dignity, is the seal of God’s good creation. According to the Christian principle, soul and body, biological sex as well and the social-cultural role of the sex (gender), can be distinguished, but not separated..."

We didn't homeschool our children for 17 years to have some progressive Vatican bureaucrat tell us, contrary to constant Magisterial teaching, that we are not the primary educators of our children in all subjects, including this one.

Whoever inserted this piece of UN propaganda is a heretic and should be removed from any position of authority in the Church.

It's horrifying that a majority of Synod Fathers signed off on this attack on parental rights.

“Unhappy times will come wherein those who should fearlessly defend the rights of the Church will instead, blinded despite the light, give their hand to the Church’s enemies and do their bidding. But when [evil] seems triumphant and when authority abuses its power, committing all manner of injustice and oppressing the weak, their ruin shall be near. They will fall and crash to the ground.

Thank God that the Synod essentially has NO authority, except as something of a report to the Pope which may give him more or less confidence in what he wants to do. It may be that other outlets for sexual education are helpful, but ONLY at the behest of the family. In the same way, parents are the primary educators of their children - though they may choose to use a school to aid them in that task.

Sigh I asked that there be no more postings on this matter until after the Apostolic Exhortation.

This was meant by Our ALdy to be a spiritual site and I am trying to comply with her requests. I understand the need for discussion at some point but the time is not here.

    I am freezing this thread.

Please in future honour my wishs in this matter, I am only trying to do as Mary wishes. I am freezing this thread. Ih Hope I do not have to go back to deleting memberships again.

I find this a nuisance and a distraction, even my dogs are growling:D:D
