The saddest thing Anthony is that you are imitating Luther and you don't even see it.

    You are saying things like:
I can decide matters reserved to the Church using my personal discernment.
I will not submit to a Pope unless I feel personally that he is valid.

These are not minor matters. These are important things that can separate you from the Church. These are in essence the two main errors of Luther. Non submission to authority, mainly the Pope, and personal discernment and interpretation of all things spiritual.

    It is nothing new really.
It is the same old error of the devil's first rebellion when he said "Non serviam", "I will not serve".
You are just dressing it up in modern clothes.
Mary's child, josephite and Don_D like this.
  2. I accept all the teachings of the Romancatholic church and the authority of the pope.
I have a problem with the identity of the pope I am meant to give submission too since there are two living popes displaying the trappings and symbols of the papacy.

Luther , at least had consolation of knowing who his pope was.
He rejected the authority of that pope and the teachings of the Catholic Church.

I'm not sure who the true Pope is and I have not rejected any of the churches teachings.

How can I therefore be imitating Luther?

I would ask you to withdraw the accusation please.

    Your daily Gospel reflection...

    Thursday, October 13, 2017

    LUKE 11:15-26

Friends, in today's Gospel we learn of a person possessed by a demon. Jesus meets the man and drives out the demon, but then is immediately accused of being in league with Satan. Some of the witnesses said, "By the power of Beelzebul, the prince of demons, he drives out demons."

Jesus' response is wonderful in its logic and laconicism: "Every kingdom divided against itself will be laid waste and house will fall against house. And if Satan is divided against himself, how will his kingdom stand?"

The demonic power is always one of scattering. It breaks up communion. But Jesus, as always, is the voice of communio, of one bringing things back together.

Think back to Jesus' feeding of the five thousand. Facing a large, hungry crowd, his disciples beg him to "dismiss the crowds so that they can go to the villages and buy food for themselves." But Jesus answers, "There is no need for them to go away; give them some food yourselves."

Whatever drives the Church apart is an echo of this "dismiss the crowds" impulse, and a reminder of the demonic tendency to divide. In times of trial and threat, this is a very common instinct. We blame, attack, break up, and disperse. But Jesus is right: "There is no need for them to go away."

And today he says, "Ask and you will receive; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened."

It is more than clear from your numerous posts that you reject the Pope. The Church is not in confusion over who is Pope, you are.

You have also flouted the authority assigned to the Church alone. That is a major teaching of the Church you disagree with.

If you wish to recant, I will withdraw, but as long as you are still trying to pull others into your error and trying to pass it off as acceptable Catholic behavior I will oppose you.

  5. You are now attempting to speak for the church .
You do not have that authority.

There are ongoing serious problems in the catholic papacy and as a practising catholic I am entitled to comment on those.
Now you accuse me of flouting church authority?
    Where ?
I have given my personal opinions on matters.
I am not under any vow of obedience.

    Grow up.

Letting people know Church teaching is not "speaking for the Church" or assuming her authority. It is being submissive to it.

You are in serious error and attempting to lead others into following you.
Mary's child and josephite like this.
  7. That is merely your opinion and your judgement.
If my views are in error then others will see that.
I have not asked others to agree with my view.

You on the other hand have set yourself up as the moral guardian of the church ready to pounce on any departure you perceive concerning the identity of the pope.
Then you hurls all kinds of accusations without properly addressing genuine concerns and worries.

There is a problem with the papacy when two men in white call themselves pope and wield the trappings of office.

    Face it.

Anthony, your thoughts are ridiculous and worse than that they are dangerous to souls. I have done my best to warn others, but apparently you are to be allowed free reign here to spread your very prolific and error filled ideas. Quite frankly I don’t think they have any business being on a Catholic forum.

I had hope to spend this 100th anniversary of Fatima going to confession and in prayer, but instead I am wound up, tense and upset arguing with you. It is like banging your head against the wall. I am going to take a respite from the forum for now. Have fun spreading your errors.

  9. I am sorry that I have upset you.
I ask for your prayers and your forgiveness and also for the prayers and forgiveness of anybody else I may have upset.
I unfortunately do not have the certainty and confidence that some others have .
I ask for understanding as it is not easy to be in a state of doubt concerning what is an important and serious matter.

    Thank you.

Who has not acknowledged that there are grave problems in the Church? This is obvious to all. However, our crying about it isn't productive. Our Lady and many others have warned us about these times and told us repeatedly what each one if us individually is to do. Even Pope Benedict himself has said this. God wins in the end. So, prayer and penance are the order of the day. Obedience.

We must trust Our Lord and endure. Living each day as we know that we ought, remaining in a state of Grace.

Thank you Anthony for your very nice post. Of course I will pray for you and I ask you to please pray for me too. Discord and angst doesn't come from God. I am sorry for the rudeness of my last post and I am sorry I posted something so blunt. I was very upset at what has been going on here and I am very upset at the loss of even one soul to this sort of error. Yours included.

In the past, I would hope at least, I have come across as generally pretty even keeled in my arguments, even with people whom I disagree with greatly, but what you have put forth is very dangerous. I honestly think you don’t see that. In any case it is not good for me spiritually or physically to be here right now having to retort to all of your posts so I need a break.

Thank you again for your kind words.

And this is only the onset of the tribulation and confusion. I assume that both will get extremely great before the Warning, which will unite all believers of all religions and denomination into one. But, until then we must be very wise to the confusion. The worst thing to do is 'knee jerk', as more times than not this adds to the "mess" as Pope Francis called what he wanted to do in the Church. It is enough to know the apostasy is no longer defacto, as it has been for the past few decades, but it is unveiling itself more clearly by the day now.

Most on the MOG forum understand the truths of the faith and they know doctrine cannot change. However, the overwhelming number of Catholics are clueless and this is what we must fast and pray the rosary about. I have found that when I read something upsetting, I need to take it to prayer in silence or I find no inner peace and there will be plenty going forward to make us mad. We have to remember, Jesus and Mary have forewarned us over and over about this moment. Instead of letting the heresy going on in the Church bother us, we need to learn how to deal with it as Jesus did.....fasting and prayer. I will get very ugly before it gets better. I fear we are just skimming the tip of the iceberg at this point.

Turn your concerns over to Jesus and talk to him about it, let him know how you feel. It is His church! If something is not right he will fix it, but in his time and not ours. Have Faith! He said the gates of hell will not prevail against his church, so I believe it. Don't get so upset at things that are not in your control . . .I learned years ago that I cannot save the world, Jesus already did that. In the meantime, follow his commandments and you will have peace.

I pray for the ability to seek and find God in all things, to look for guidance in matters unknown to me, to listen for and to discern the truth, to accept and acknowledge our Lord's nudge, whisper and love at all times, to follow and to lead on the path of not only mercy but justice in God's Holy word, Amen. I am praying for all the wounded soldiers of Christ here on the MoG, may our heavenly mother take you by the hand and comfort you during these times.

I too, am upset at the potential loss of souls - due to the terrible errors being preached and enabled by Pope Francis and others he has handpicked to be in significant high-up positions in our beloved Church.
Especially when one of them is spouting heresy and rapidly dismantling all that the Church has previously held on to.

He points out that the famous axiom "Ubi Petrus, ibi Ecclesia" (Where the Pope is, there is also the Church) holds true only when the Pope acts and behaves as the Pope, because Peter "is subject to the duties of the Office" otherwise, "neither is the Church in him, nor is he in the Church."

True. But we don't yet know if or in what ways Francis is a false Pope. We may have our silent suppositions or reservations, but we do not yet know if or in what ways Francis is a false / non-Pope. It is understandable how a Catholic might wonder whether or not such a thing were true, but we can not yet know.

A possible heretic? A dreadful Pope? Worst Pope ever? Secret Crypto-Lutheran? A preview of the False Prophet? Arguably. But we can not yet know if Francis is not actually the Pope. Surely he's the worst Pope in Church history, but he may still be Pope. Let's hold on, and be patient.
