I stopped pulled out my New Testament and opened to a random page: Paul’s to Timothy; Sound Teaching When I was setting out for Macedonia I urged you to stay on in Ephesus to instruct certain people not to spread wrong teaching to give attention to myths and unending genealogies; these things only foster doubts instead of furthering God's plan which is founded on faith. conscience and a sincere faith. Law is good, but only provided it is used legitimately, 9 on the understanding that laws are not framed for people who are upright. On the contrary, they are for criminals and the insubordinate, for the irreligious and the wicked, for the sacrilegious and the godless; they are for people who kill their fathers or mothers and for murderers, 10 for the promiscuous, homosexuals, kidnappers, for liars and for perjurers -- and for everything else that is contrary to the sound teaching
Think ten, twenty or thirty years ago if someone suggested these blessings would happen in the Catholic church you would have said they were nuts and that it was impossible! How far and how fast we have fallen.

My Priest had a very good sermon today on this. He said he also was shocked and perplexed by the Pope's actions, and that we must be faithful to the Church and not leave, as a few parishioners had said they were leaving the Catholic Faith because of it. He reminded us that Popes come and go, and this one will be gone soon too, and the Church will survive as it always has.. He also reminded us that we know the Truth, and to be faithful to the teachings of the Church, and not to sin or promote sin.
What about the "natural law"? Does the "spirit" of the document contradict the "natural law"? Or is it just the wording we worry about?
Actually the Magisterium is made up of 2,000 years of the teaching of the popes and bishops and cardinals in communion with him. So here’s where you’re tripping up - the current (“living”) Magisterium does NOT have the authority to contradict the entire unanimous teaching of the historical Magisterium of Catholicism. It’s not some kind of Oracle spouting new doctrine. This is the grave error of modernists and progressives. There is no need for this nonsense, tying oneself up in knots and mental gymnastics over this document. It’s simply WRONG. You’re leading people astray with this silly notion that the current Magisterium has the “power and authority” to contradict the entire history of Catholicism. And in doing so, you’re endangering your own soul.

Frankly I’m not at all upset about what this Vatican cabal is doing. I’ve expected it all along. I’m simply surprised it’s taken them this long. What’s infuriating is that otherwise good decent faithful lay Catholics are giving this POS document the time of day, let alone engaging in hand wringing and mental gymnastics over it, or worse yet, telling fellow Catholics they have to take it or its authors seriously. That’s where I get incensed. “Have you lost your tiny, Catholic, minds?” Indeed.
