    Its seems to me that we will be receiving many, many new visitors and members on the forum in the next year and in the years to come.

    Many of them will be feeling very, very lost and frightened. Very many of them will have little or no Faith at all, may of them having abandoned their Faith long since.

    I ask that you greet and meet them with great patience , love and understanding. These are difficult times and will become yet more difficult still.

    Embrace them, in Imitation of Mary, with love, kindness, forbearance and prayers.

    The Autumn leaves of World events fall around us and we move into a new period of winter for our poor world.

    But after Autumn and Cold Winter always a New Springtime and Summer comes. We have Mary's Promise.

    Lyrics to this most beautiful hymn. How I love to sing to her!

    O sanctissima, o piissima,
    dulcis Virgo Maria!
    Mater amata, intemerata,
    ora, ora pro nobis.

    Tu solatium et refugium,
    Virgo Mater Maria.
    Quidquid optamus, per te speramus;
    ora, ora pro nobis.

    Ecce debiles, perquam flebiles;
    salva nos, o Maria!
    Tolle languores, sana dolores;
    ora, ora pro nobis.

    Virgo, respice, Mater, aspice;
    audi nos, o Maria!
    Tu medicinam portas divinam;
    ora, ora pro nobis.

    Translation

    O most holy, o most loving,
    sweet Virgin Mary!
    Beloved Mother, undefiled,
    pray, pray for us.

    You are solace and refuge,
    Virgin, Mother Mary.
    Whatever we wish, we hope it through you;
    pray, pray for us.

    Look, we are weak and deeply deplorable;
    save us, o Mary!
    Take away our lassitude, heal our pains;
    pray, pray for us.

    Virgin, look at us, Mother, care for us;
    hear us, o Mary!
    You bring divine medicine;
    pray, pray for us.

    Let us gather all of the lost souls under the mantle of our Blessed Lady.

    They will come to us.

    This is why Our Lady set up the forum. For the Winter.

    The Winter that is come , so suddenly upon us. Let us..as Scripture bids us, Gird our loins for Winter. The best way to prepare for Winter is not to prepare to ave ourselves, but to prepare ourselves to save others.

    For it is in saving others that we will best be able to save ourselves.

    Beautifully said Padraig. I always think of Isiah's words about Jesus: a bruised reed He will not hurt a smouldering wick he will not quench
    There are so many bruises reeds out there. We must take great care. One thing that PF said early in his papacy that has stuck with me is the image of a field hospital. We must dress wounds before we apply doctrine. Our Lady is our leader in this. Who better to dress wounds than a Mother. Whenever I am assailed by doubt or fear I always remind myself of how much I love my own children--how I would never ever shut them out no matter what they had done. If I sinful as I am can love this way how much more Our Lord and Our Lady love us! It is at those moments I get a glimpse of St Therese's confidence in Jesus's love no matter what she had done. Perhaps Padraig Our Lady wanted the forum for "such a time as this."

    Today was the Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes and also World Day of the Sick. I thought to myself how very apt this was given China.

    I must remember to pray for all the poor sick.

    I think she did.

    Imagine facing the hard things coming with no real Faith or prayer life. How horrible would that be?
