Catholics are now able to hear Luther’s challenge for the Church of today, recognising him as a “witness to the gospel” (From Conflict to Communion 29).

This is historical revisionism at its worst, a scandal and an outrage to anyone who has at least a little understanding of the Reformation and the life of Martin Luther.

One cannot retrospectively canonize a rogue and a scoundrel and distort the truth for the sake of ecumenism.

Luther was a witness to a false gospel. Sola Scriptura and Sola Fide are and always will be heretical doctrines.

This Vatican document distorts the historical record and is a form of historical negationism.
