To all the MOG members in Ireland and to you Padraig on your name day from this proud Irish-American: Happy St. Patrick's Day! May God bless the beautiful Irish island and reinvigorate he faith their and in my native land where so many of our common ancestors came. St Patrick pray for us. Artist:Hymns Album:Unknown Title:All Praise to Saint Patrick All praise to Saint Patrick, who brought to our mountains The gift of God's faith, the sweet light of His love. All praise to the Shepherd who showed us the fountains That rise in the Heart of the Saviour above. For hundreds of years, In smiles and in tears, Our Saint hath been with us, our shield and our stay; All else may have gone, Saint Patrick alone. He hath been to us light, when earth's lights were all set, For the glories of faith they can never decay, And the best of our glories is bright with us yet, in the faith and the feast of Saint Patrick's day. There is not a Saint in the bright courts of heaven, More faithful than he to the land of his choice; Oh well may the nation to whom he was given, In the feast of their Sire and apostle rejoice. In Glory above True to his love, He keeps the false faith from his children away. The dark false faith Far worse than death. Oh he drives it far off from the green sunny shore, Like the reptiles that fled from his curse in dismay, And Erin when error's proud triumph is o'er, Will still be found keeping Saint Patrick's day. Then what shall we do for the heaven sent father? What shall the proof of our loyalty be? By all that is dear to our hearts we would rather Be martyred sweet Saint, than bring shame upon thee. But oh, he will take The promise we make, So to live that our lives by God's help, may display The light that he bore To Erin's shore. Oh Yes Father of Ireland! no child wilt thou own Whose life is not lighted by grace on its way; For they are true Irish, ah yes, they alone, Whose hearts are all true on Saint Patrick's day.
For some reason, this prayer of blessing has more meaning to me this St. Patrick's Day as the storms of life begin to blow stronger.
Thank you Miker, and a Happy St. Patrick's Day to you too. Fantastic pianist in that clip and lovely music, but I'm not familiar with the song. These are the two we sing at Mass:
When Irish eyes are smiling...... The above is the song I sing when walking around our property as well as many short prayers to St Pat . I do this to scare off the snakes! and We seem to have many some years! In the 32 years on our property we have found snakes even in our house and the majority have been the deadly varity! The song and prayers to St Patrick have worked so far! Praise be God! God Bless us all and St Patrick pray for us always. Amen.
I don’t see where Voris is wrong about his views on the NYC St Patrick's Parade and all the scandal attached to it. The time is NOW, past time actually, for People of Faith to "Atand-Up" and be heard! "PARADE CHARADE" - Time to end this charade — the sooner the better. http://www.churchmilitant.com/video/episode/parade-charade GOD SAVE ALL HERE!! ..... and Happy Saint Patrick's Day
Happy St. Patrick's Day to all - after daily Mass today, an elderly gentlemen popped up, whipped out a harmonica, and played a lovely rendition of the Irish National Anthem ("The Soldier's Song"?). It was an unexpected, but touching moment. He said he wanted to do it in honor of the two priests of Irish descent that concelebrated the Mass, Fr. Bill Quinlivan and Msgr. Leo McCarthy!
at mass this morning the priest told a story about a guy touring Europe who found a golden phone which was a direct line to heaven and cost a thosand dollars to use in every Church. But he got to Ireland the phone sign was for only25 cents ,when he asked the priest why it was so cheap in Ireland he was told it was because it was only a local call
Beannachtam na Feile Padraig to all of our Irishmen and women. So, Padraig, did you help him chase all the snakes out of Ireland today? Because I came into work today and a couple people were chasing a snake around the office, I've had this office 21 years now and that has never happened before. Like Indiana Jones, I hate snakes!, but we got this little bugger into a box and I took mercy on his little snake life and set him free out in the woods . . . I hate snakes!
alcohol is a surefire cure for snakes that is why they avoid Ireland more than hell, I am killing a few myself at the moment
I don't hate Snakes and when I see King Snakes in my yard I tell them to come back and bring their friends .... they are called King Snakes 'cause they eat other snakes ... like the Copperheads, Cotton Mouths & Rattlers that we have down here! My Old Lutheran Minister & Rotary Club Buddy told me that all the nasty Critters put here on Earth was God's reminder about what Hell would be like if ......!!! GOD SAVE ALL HERE .... from satan and his nasty critters!!
the first time I ever saw a snake was in a graveyard in Italy I nearly had heart failure Italians do not umbibe sufficient alchol
It's only lunchtime here and I have a bunch of work to do or I'd have one with you, but I'm 25% Irish from my Mom's Dad and I can drink Jamesons like the mother's milk it is so here's my toast to you, brother: May luck be our companion May friends stand by our side May history remind us all Of Ireland's faith and pride. May God bless us with happiness May love and faith abide.
The story of St. Patrick as told by a child in and inner-city school, 1960's Dublin: And since next week is Holy Week, here's the story of the Passion: Those were the days.
