Verne, It is true that the Catholic interpretation (i.e. water and the Holy Ghost) point to the fullness of Catholic teaching. In the above message, perhaps the warning of social upheaval is authentic, but her Protestant mindset has muddled the part indicating the spiritual response. For a number of years, I exercised the gift of prophecy within the context of the Charismatic Renewal. "Impure" prophecies which included much of oneself were always a danger; it was always prudent to look to mature members who had the gift of discernment of spirits in helping to nip such prophecies in the bud. Keeping what is good and setting aside what is not of God is always a challenge, but extinguishing the gifts entirely is an overreaction in my opinion. As St. Paul said: 1Thess 5: 19 Do not quench the Spirit; 20 do not despise prophetic utterances. 21 But examine everything carefully; hold fast to that which is good.
