    The Assumption

The Holy Rosary, St. Josemaria Escriva

Assumpta est Maria in coelum: gaudent angeli! —God has taken Mary —body and soul— to Heaven: and the Angels rejoice!

So sings the Church. —And so, with that same outburst of joy, do we begin our contemplation in this decade of the Holy Rosary:

The Mother of God has fallen asleep. —Around her bed are the twelve Apostles. —Matthias in the place of Judas.

And we, through a grace respected by all, are also at her side.

But Jesus wants to have His Mother, body and soul, in Heaven. —And the heavenly Court, arrayed in all its splendour, hails Our Lady. —You and I —children after all— take the train of Mary's magnificent blue cloak, and so we can watch the marvelous scene.

The most Blessed Trinity receives and showers honours on the Daughter, Mother, and Spouse of God... —And so great is Our Lady's majesty that the Angels exclaim: Who is she?

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread and
forgive our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

The Coronation of the Blessed Virgin Mary

The Holy Rosary, St. Josemaria Escriva

Thou art all fair and in thee there is no stain. —Thou art a garden enclosed, my sister, Spouse, an enclosed garden, a sealed fountain. —Veni: coronaberis. —Come: thou shalt be crowned (Cant 4:7, 12 and 8).

If you and I had had the power, we too would have made her Queen and Lady of all creation.

A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman with a crown of twelve stars upon her head. —Clothed with the sun. —The moon at her feet (Apoc 12:1). Mary, Virgin without stain, has repaired the fall of Eve: and she crushed the head of the infernal serpent with her immaculate heel. Daughter of God, Mother of God, Spouse of God.

The Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost crown her as the rightful Empress of the Universe.

And the Angels render homage unto her as her subjects... and the patriarchs and the prophets and the Apostles... and the martyrs and the confessors and the virgins and all the saints... and all sinners and you and I.

    Prayer of Mother Teresa

Dear Jesus, help me to spread Thy fragrance everywhere I go. Flood my soul with Thy spirit and love. Penetrate and possess my whole being so utterly that all my life may only be a radiance of Thine. Shine through me and be so in me that every soul I come in contact with may feel Thy presence in my soul. Let them look up and see no longer me but only Jesus. Stay with me and then I shall begin to shine as you shine, so to shine as to be a light to others.

“With the Blessed Sacrament and the Holy Rosary we have inconceivable and unlimited power at our beckoning. The Blessed Sacrament is God; the Holy Rosary is the power of God channeled through His Mother…Prayer, especially the Rosary, in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament can heal our cities and our nation and the world.” (The Eucharist and The Rosary: The Power to Change the World, Louis Kaczmarek

St. Louis de Montfort recommended a way keeping your mind on the mystery you were saying in the rosary, which John Paul II followed:

Of celebrating the life, death and heavenly glory of Jesus and Mary in the holy Rosary and a method of restraining our imagination and lessening distractions.
    160. To do this a word or two is added to each Hail Mary of the decade reminding us of the mystery we are celebrating. This addition follows the name of Jesus in the middle of the Hail Mary:

    1'st decade"Jesus becoming man"

    2'nd decade "Jesus sanctifying"

3'rd decade "Jesus born in poverty"

    4'th decade "Jesus sacrificed"

    5'th decade"Jesus Holy of holies"

    6'th decade"Jesus in his agony"

    7'th decade"Jesus scourged"

    8'th decade"Jesus crowned with thorns"

    9'th decade"Jesus carrying his Cross"

    10'th decade"Jesus crucified"

11'th decade"Jesus risen from the dead"

    12'th decade"Jesus ascending to heaven"

13'th decade"Jesus filling thee with the Holy Spirit"

    14'th decade"Jesus raising thee up"

    15'th decade"Jesus crowning thee"

"O Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament, I would like to be filled with love for You; keep me closely united with You, may my heart be near to Yours. I want to be to You like the apostle John. O Mary of the Rosary, keep me recollected when I say these prayers of yours; bind me forever, with your rosary, to Jesus of the Blessed Sacrament. Blessed be Jesus, my love, blessed be the Immaculate Virgin Mary." (Pope John XXIII, Journal of a Soul)
