Filial Correction of Pope Francis for multiple heresies

Discussion in 'Church Critique' started by BrianK, Sep 24, 2017.

  1. I have not said what my state in life is so you have no justification to decide what it is.
The issue would be simple were there only one Pope.
    There are two popes.
I have chosen to continue following the one I know is basically a safe pair of hands and that person is Pope Benedict xv1.
I believe his resignation has been made in legal error.

I would not believe that unless substantial evidence existed to prove the truth of my assertion .
I'm not going to repeat again the many many points I have already covered in relation to this matter.

The anarchy is coming from you, someone who decides he is better qualified than one the most esteemed of canon lawyers in order to make radical decisions on little more than a whim. Catch onto yourself, if people reacted to events in your premature and exaggerated style, all we would have is anarchy. We'd have as many sects as the Protestants.

How could the 'safe option' be schism, for that is no less than what you are proposing?
  3. That is your assertion .
I do not agree with it.
It is not up to you to decide who is and is not a catholic.

There are now two living elected popes in the Catholic Church.
The situation is virtually unprecedented .

Serious problems exist in this twin papal set up and my only safe course of action as a practising catholic is to follow the Pope I know is essentially an orthodox believer .
That for me is Pope Benedict the xvi.
  4. There is no whim.
I have examined this matter carefully and I reject Peters shallow arguments.
I note also your appeals to authority whilst evading all effort to actually engage with my points.
Appeals to authority do not work in this unprecedented situation of two popes.

There is no schism provided one follows a legitimate Pope.

Are we really getting back on this train again?
Do you have nothing else to talk about?

No one needs to engage with your points. You are in error. We have no need to prove that Pope Francis is Pope. The Church said so. All of the Bishops and Cardinals said so. The laity said so. Benedict said so.

You can reject a sitting Pope all you want. That is called schism and is a canonical crime punishable by automatic excommunication. Ask any canon lawyer.

It is time to move on. It is becoming a bit like how many angels fit on the head of a pin. A futile argument and a waste of energy. God will show us soon enough I expect but if not we must stand fast and hold our ground in the evil day as St Paul advises. Pray and sacrifice and beg for mercy.
  7. Your points would have more validity in normal times when a pope dies and is succeeded by another.
I'm afraid we are not living in normal times.

Pope Benedict xvi is the sitting pope as far as I'm concerned.

The doubts surrounding his alleged resignation , the subsequent conclave and the impending schism caused by Amoris Laetitiae [amongst other heretical post 2013 pronouncements] taken together
are simply too many to accept any other position.

Since we are never going to agree on this point it is futile to pursue it.

    Yes, you have. Abundantly.
And no one else want to talk about your position anymore.
So if you are going to post why don't you talk about something else.

Anthonys Truth ? I always thought the Truth belonged to the Church and its Teachings, I did not knew that the Truth belonged to someone else, any way within the avatar and in my humble opinion, there is already Something wrong, just saying.

Lets focus on this... "The doubts surrounding his alleged resignation "

Did he resign? Did he say he resigned? Had he said anything since the resignation that makes us think he didn't resign? it is not alleged, it is an actual fact and the rest of your case falls apart after that

Positions like yours have led to over 33,000 different Christian religions. The inability to accept the final authority of the Roman Catholic Church and the chair of Peter. You sir are in my prayers. To denounce the conclave is excommunication.

Hi Aviso, welcome back. I am glad to see you again and glad it seems like your life is coming together nicely :)

When I said "the Church said so" I was speaking of the Cardinals who emerged from the conclave and announced "Habemus Papam". That man was then universally accepted by the laity and that is how a Pope is made.

I don't think it is wrong for people to have questions about what happened. There are certainly some very unusual circumstances surrounding the resignation of Pope Benedict. However, we as laity are obliged to accept the man put forth and universally accepted as Pope or we risk becoming schismatic.

As I have mentioned in earlier posts there have been many anti-popes in the history of the Church and it is certainly possible we will have them in the future. The difference between those times and this time is that there was always a true pope and one or more men claiming to be Pope. Benedict is not a pretender to the throne. He is not denouncing Pope Francis and claiming to be the true Pope. If he was then it would be a very different story, but for now we need to accept the Francis is Pope or we endanger ourselves.

What do you mean by excommunication ? are you the Church to talk this way ? I am really surprised with some of you, please read back your Catechism and you will probably understand who can excomminicate but be sure not you, "to denounce the conclave is excommunication", between us this is not Catholic but your own opinion only, thank you.

I agree with your statement completely. Shoooot, who here doesnt want Benedict back. I think most of us miss his steady leadership. That doesnt change the situation we are currently in.

We still hasnt answered the 'alleged resignation' statement

    And welcome back Aviso

I love the Latin Rite of old, especially when Father John Hardon SJ would say this mass during our men's retreat. I also love the NO mass when it is done reverently and without inclusive language and many other abuses that I have fought for 30 years. Recently, our Deacon gave a homily and said essentially there is no hell and we should not fear the Lord. Even after sending him a two page letter admonishing his homily that was contrary to scripture, the CCC and 2K years of Catholic magisterial teachings, he did not have the courage to write back or call me in for a visit or any form of communication. It is obvious why, as he can't defend his heresy. I know all to well the abuses that have and are taking place in the NO mass, but it is because of bad clergy and lukewarm Catholics that keeps it going, not because of the original intent of the council. I guess the easy thing to do would have been to relocate to a diocese like Lincoln Nebraska where the true Catholic faith is lived and practiced by the clergy and many laity. But, I never felt called by the Lord to do so. I continue to fight the good fight in the place the Lord has put me.

We refer to the Traditional Latin Mass as the TLM, maybe we are better to abbreviate the Novus Ordo Missae as NOM as opposed to NO mass. ;) I'm very scared lately...
