    So your well won't ever freeze over like Heidi's? Cords or face cords of wood being new to me, I had to look it up.
    110 gals. of oil is roughly half our standard 1,000 litre tank so that's really very little oil to use in a year. I reckon that you could live completely off the grid. Have you ever considered that? Solar panels could keep you supplied with hot water in summer with maybe a small version of those new fangled windmills for electricity. Sounds like you have enough land to make it work.

    Temperature is -7 F (-21.667 C) this morning. Windchill index is -24 (-31.111 C). Yet, school is in session. Considering there are 5-year-olds in the mix, who in the right mind sends kids out in this weather?
