A negative into a positive

In prayer recently I apologized sincerely to God for the number of times I have fallen, so, so many it is embarrassing and I will be embarrassed to face God on judgement day because of this. Thank God Jesus said we would be forgiven 70 times 7 in other words an infinite number of times.

Anyway the response was not what I was expecting - for He told me He loved me more each time I got up for I never give up and always keep persevering. God has a father's heart and an enormous capacity to love us in our brokenness.

Talk about turning a negative into a positive.

    Thank you God!

He loves you so much you cannot even conceive.
The most powerful thing I ever heard was that He can love each person as if they were the only person He ever created.
We cannot love that way, but He can.

That is a hopeful message for all of us! Thanks for sharing it.

Very hopeful message indeed! Whenever I get really discouraged over my repetitive sins, I always think about Jesus carrying His cross and falling, but getting right back up again and continuing his walk. That image alone gives me so much strength to never give up the fight.

Yes yes yes!!! It is a paradox but that is exactly the way it is.

I thank God he provided me 12 children, because I have learned through this journey how a father feels when he sees one (or many) of his children make bad decisions, some which are deadly to the soul. Through it all, I continue to love them and many cases pray harder for them when they have made grave choices contrary to the loving will of God. I wait patiently for their repentance/conversion away from choices that separate one from salvation and when they return, I will, like the father of the Prodigal Son, welcome them without scorn or reproach. The love and joy of a father is to see their children in the will of God, just as our heavenly Father looks upon all of us, his children. Like our heavenly Father, we must remain steadfast in desire to wait patiently for the return of our prodigal children. It took many children and many years before I put my trust in Him, rather then my own efforts, to steer them on the right path. I have chosen later in life to do as St. Monica did to her son Augustine and stay by their side in prayer and fasting trusting in God's mercy, rather then my own frugal efforts of talk and more talk.
