Pope Francis : Abortion

    So naive question, but does anyone think any members of the Synod may try to entertain the idea of the Church taking this pastoral approach with the question of married/divorced/remarried persons unable to get an annulment? Thoughts?

    You are the only one worried by the letter of the law. Just by having this conversation...a lady might read this and go straight to confession. Our Holy Father is not only teaching Gods law but by explaining how grave the sin is...He is preaching how evil it is to the entire world. He is basically saying abortion is one of the worse sins possibly. It is so bad it really needs to go to a Bishop. But because of the Year of Mercy, Our Holy Father is sending out his army to cleanse hearts.

    There is many layers to one subject.

    See my post above. None of those women need to seek out a bishop. Only if they knew the Church would excommunicate them as a result of the abortion would they need to have him or a representative priest lift the excommuniction. That is probably a very small amount.
