Your soul is restless because your spirit is weak and tired from all worldly things..... this is so true....I am so distracted these days by all the bad goings on....that doesn't mean I am not praying, but it is reaching its toll on me.... If I may ask forum members to pray for me as I am suffering greatly with anxiety and insomnia these days....it's an old condition rearing its ugly head. I need strength to get through this as I work a very busy job as a nurse and a great deal is expected of me every day.....thank you!

Two things I have done in this regard to keep anxiety away. 1) stop watching tv news 2) pray to the Divine Mercy and repeat Jesus I Trust in You. I know I am toast without His grace and the gifts of the Holy Spirit. If I start to fear, it is because I have misplaced my trust and I go right back to the start which is consecrating myself to His trust. The other thing that is essential every day is the rosary. It is the chain that our Lady will bind Satan in hell and he knows it!
Wow. To hear this message on the day my youngest son was confirmed is truly a great blessing. The bishop today was just awesome he told the young people being confirmed that evil, yes the devil, exists. And they need to use the gifts and power of the Holy Spirit to protect themselves. He invited them to frequent Communion and Confesssion. I was happy my son heard these words. I was happy to hear the words. Peace.

I hope one day to experience the gifts of the Holy Spirit. I'm not sure what that entails or how I would know that I've received this gift. The Holy Spirit seems so far away and unattainable. But I've always thought that the Father was given the first 2000 years of man's existence (with a soul), and Jesus was given the next 2000 years and now it's the Holy Spirits time. IMHO of course! Bernadette, The life of a ordinary saint...so powerful but yet so misunderstood. All saints go through your same feelings. But by wanting the gifts of the Holy Spirit you misunderstand that as Gods special saint, you already have the gifts of the Holy Spirit. All those gifts are within all of us. But we never know when God will reveal himself (to you). And it might not be what you expect...and for sure it won't be in your timeline. Many things i have asked for have come true in my life. But it usually happens in a strange way or many many years after the fact. Those that believe without seeing have so much spiritual power bestowed by God that the graces flow Abundantly. Those rockstar saints, that we feel so attracted to, were just as human as us. They got sick, angry, happy, sad, mean and sinned like all of us. But since they recieved out of the ordinary graces they had to act in a greater way. Their burden is so much greater...they saw or felt something out of the ordinary and had to make a decision. How many saints have failed once they were given graces...aka fallen saint. Enjoy your relationship with God. The graces are there and if God does bestow a special grace remember it also comes with a Cross. Not all of us can handle that cross therefore God protects us. Don't feel like you have been left out...God has a special purpose for you. When our time comes and by the Grace of God we enter the kingdom of heaven...you will see how the ordinary saint played such a big role in the salvation of mankind. We might be ponds on the chess board but that one move at a time is very powerful. May God Bless You and Your Family May Gods Will be Done
