    Ukraine Prepares for War;
    Russia Readies Nukes

Since the so-called ceasefire agreement was signed on Feb. 12 in Minsk, fighting has continued in Ukraine, with more than 100 Ukrainian military personnel being killed and the town of Shyrokyne, near Mariupol, being virtually destroyed by heavy shelling. No estimate of casualties for the pro-Russian forces has been reported by the Western media. Both sides are admittedly preparing for the full-blown renewal of all-out combat within the next two months (see: “Pro-Russian Rebels Told: Major Attack on Ukraine Imminent”).

The Ukrainian military is building 300 defensive fortifications, including a system of trenches on the beaches of Mariupol, the port city that is a vital link between Crimea and Eastern Ukraine. An amphibious attack by pro-Russian forces is expected. There are reports of Russian tanks and munitions flowing into Eastern Ukraine and a buildup of Russian forces on the Ukraine border. About 60,000 troops are said to be massed there. Russian officials have declined to comment.

Meanwhile, the United States is sending paratroopers from its 173rd Airborne Brigade stationed in Viacenza, Italy, to Western Ukraine to train Ukrainian troops. The U.S. paratroopers are expected to arrive by the end of April, about the time some believe an all-out war for control of the Eastern territories will erupt, with Russian forces possibly taking an active role. (See: “U.S. paratroopers to train 900 Ukrainian soldiers starting April 20”.)

Elements of the U.S. 2nd Calvary are also being deployed in Lithuania as the Baltic nations prepare for what they see as a likely military conflict with Russia. A significant portion of the population in Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia are Russian speakers sympathetic to Moscow. Poland is also preparing for war and building watchtowers to keep track of developments along its border with Kaliningrad, the Russian enclave on the Baltic, where Russia has reportedly deployed Iskander nuclear missiles, a tactical weapon it has threatened to use against NATO forces. (See: “The Baltics Are Beefing Up Amid Russia’s Nuclear War Threats”.)

All of these developments should frighten any sane observer, but there is more: the head of the European Union Commission, Jean Claude Juncker, has called for the formation of a European Union Army (see: “German Defense Minister Supports Calls for EU Army”). The proposed 28-nation force would be headquartered in Brussels and would be in addition to NATO forces.

Proponents of the EU army point out that not all members of the European Union belong to NATO. They also want Europe to take charge of its own defense and see the formation of such a force as a hedge against EU member states falling back into the divisions of nationalism. Germany supports the formation of an EU army, which lends the idea a credibility that could make it a reality. The German defense minister has said that such a force would be in line with U.S. policy that European nations should progressively assume the burden of their own defense rather than rely on U.S. forces within a NATO coalition.

The admitted purpose of an EU army would be to contain what has been described as Russian expansionism (see: “Spooked by Putin, EU Brass Considers a European Army”). The Western media narrative of Russian aggression in Ukraine is being invoked by Juncker and those who favor the formation of the massive military force, under the pretext that Europe is threatened by a resurgent Russian imperialism.

The call for a European Union army has provoked Russia to respond with a blunt declaration that the size of armies matters little when nuclear weapons are involved. (See: “Russia Delivers Blunt Response to Proposed EU Army”.) Russian officials have said that rather than provide added security for Europe, a massive EU military force would be regarded by Russia as a provocation and make Europe more vulnerable to Russia’s nuclear capabilities.

One of the foremost Western experts on Russia, Professor Stephen Cohen, says that the United States and Russia are closer to war than they have ever been and characterizes the present crisis as exceeding the danger encountered during the Cuban missile crisis. (See: “War with Russia? More Possible than Ever... (with Prof. Stephen Cohen)”.) Prof. Cohen has pointed out that both Washington and Kiev appear intent on sabotaging the Minsk ceasefire agreement and has called the U.S. policy in Ukraine “reckless.”

Cohen is professor emeritus of Russian Studies at Princeton and New York Universities and has spent more than 40 years studying Russian history. He has bluntly characterized the U.S.-led narrative of Russian aggression in the Ukraine as “malarkey” and has repeatedly criticized the “disinformation” about supposed Russian expansionism into Europe.

According to Cohen, Ukraine is involved in a civil war, which the West refuses to acknowledge, preferring instead to blame Russia. Tension between the West and Russia, Cohen says, stem from a 2013 trade proposal by the EU that sought to exclude Russia, which had been (and still remains) Ukraine’s main trading partner. Russia simply wanted to be part of any EU deal, but the West refused any accommodation.

So now the unthinkable is being thought: nuclear war. Russia sees itself as being hemmed in by NATO forces, with the U.S. military in the forefront. It is being beaten down economically through crippling sanctions imposed under Washington’s leadership and insistence. What will Russia do?

Inaction is not an option, nor is it in the Russian character. According to Prof. Cohen, war between Russia and the United States may be triggered if President Barack Obama implements a provision in the Ukraine Freedom Defense Act that allows him to send massive amounts of lethal military aid to Ukrainian forces. Then, World War III could begin in earnest.

The Fatima Center has been in the forefront in offering the facts about this situation that may lead to the destruction of the world as we know it (see: “The World Is on the Brink of a Nuclear War”). Now, our research and warnings are being presented through sources the secular media cannot discount, although it tends to mute its coverage, or to counterbalance the truth with official government propaganda, for which it has become the conduit.

We have told you that the time is short. We have told you that the world is sleepwalking to its own destruction. We have tried to wake it up. Never have Our Lady’s prophecies of terrible chastisements that will result in the “annihilation of nations” been closer to fulfillment. We who are awake to the dangers we face must raise our voices as never before. We must also implore Heaven to send our Pope and bishops the grace to do the only thing that can avert disaster: Consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary NOW!

Ukraine conflict: Soldiers killed despite truce talks

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-32296796

There has been a surge in violence between government troops and pro-Russian rebels in east Ukraine, despite diplomatic efforts to enforce a truce.

Ukraine said six government soldiers were killed in a 24-hour period and rebels said one of their fighters died in an army attack.

A BBC team witnessed exchanges of fire during a ceasefire monitoring mission.

Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the United States by saying Americans have chosen a “path of degradation.” In addition, the leader of the Russian Orthodox Church, Patriarch Kirill I of Moscow, echoed Putin’s perception of Western countries, accusing them of engaging in the “spiritual disarmament” of their people: http://www.inquisitr.com/2216087/pu...-morally-bankrupt-on-the-path-of-degradation/

  9. Russia ‘Reviewing’ The Legality Of Baltic States Independence

"Meanwhile while everyone has been looking elsewhere, Russia continues trying to return to the Soviet Union."

Moscow (AFP) – "Russia’s Prosecutor General is reviewing the legality of the independence of the three Baltic countries from the Soviet Union, a spokesman said Tuesday.

The move drew a furious reaction from Lithuania’s President Dalia Grybauskaite, who said, “No one has the right to threaten” our independence.

Two lawmakers from the majority United Russia party argued in their appeal to prosecutors that decisions by the State Council of the Soviet Union, which granted independence to Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, were illegal.

The lawmakers claimed that the decisions “brought great harm” to the country and should therefore be qualified as “state treason”, according to the appeal which is now under review.

The Prosecutor General’s office is “reviewing the request by lawmakers in accordance with Russian law,” a spokesman told AFP."

WHY THE CONSECRATION OF THE WHOLE WORLD ALONG WITH RUSSIA IN 1984?
By William Sockey – Why did Pope St. John Paul II, on March 25, 1984, consecrate the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and not just Russia alone, even though Our Lady of Fatima requested only the consecration of Russia? To answer this question we must first ask the question: “Why did Our Lady of Fatima request the consecration of Russia to her Immaculate Heart by the Pope in union with all the bishops of the Catholic Church?”

Our Lady warned at Fatima that the world was threatened with punishment for its sins, by means of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and of the Holy Father. She warned that a Second World War would start during the pontificate of Pope Pius XI. She said,

To prevent this, I shall come to ask for the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of Reparation on the First Saturdays. If my requests are heeded, Russia will be converted, and there will be peace; if not, she will spread her errors throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated.

The reason Our Lady requested the consecration of Russia by the Pope and bishops of the Catholic Church was to prevent World War II and to prevent communist Russia from spreading their atheist ideology throughout the world, causing wars and persecutions of the Church, the martyrdom of the good, the suffering of the Holy Father and the annihilation of various nations.

To whom did Our Lady make this request? On June 13, 1929, Our Lady appeared to Sister Lucia in the chapel of her convent and said, “The moment has come in which God asks the Holy Father, in union with all the Bishops of the world, to make the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart, promising to save it by this means.” The request was not made to St. John Paul II, or to any random pope at some time in the future! No, the request was made to Pope Pius XI!

If Pope Pius XI had made the consecration of Russia in union with all the bishops of the Church, the following things would have resulted:

    1. Russia would have been converted before amassing the power to spread the errors of atheistic Communism all over the world.
    2. There would have been no World War II, through which Russia captured half of Europe, gaining the economic means to infect the world with atheistic Communism.
    3. There would have been no Soviet Union, no Red China, no communist North Korea, no communist Vietnam, no communist Cuba, and no Christian martyrs in those countries.
    4. There would have been no Russian supported communist uprisings and revolutions throughout the world, in Africa, South America and Asia.
    5. Christian countries would not have been morally and spiritually undermined by Soviet propaganda.
    6. There would have been peace throughout the world during the second half of the twentieth century!
    7. The West would have been better united and morally and spiritually stronger for meeting the threat of Islamic terrorism, and acting more effectively against it.
Pope Pius XI failed to make the consecration of Russia as requested by Our Lady. Great suffering resulted from this, for the world and for the Church. Sister Lucia said Our Lord spoke to her in an intimate communication, saying “They did not wish to heed my request…they will repent and do it, but it will be late. Russia will already have spread her errors throughout the world, provoking wars and the persecution of the Church; the Holy Father will have much to suffer.” The consecration would be made, eventually, but it would be too late to prevent the evils foretold by Our Lady if the consecration was not made in time.

When St. John Paul II was recuperating in the hospital, after the assassination attempt on his life, he made a careful study of the Message of Fatima. It was obvious that the consecration of Russia requested of Pope Pius XI had not been made, and the evils and suffering foretold by Our Lady and Our Lord had come to pass. World War II was long over, Russia had grown and expanded its power, becoming the atheistic Soviet Union. Russian propaganda had infected the whole world – even Catholic countries – with a spirit of rebellion against God’s laws and the Christian faith, with publicly accepted and promoted atheism and immorality.

Realizing that the damage we were warned about had now been done, St. John Paul II saw that it could no longer be prevented. The question that faced the Pope was, what did the Message of Fatima teach us that could now be done effectively to counter and repair the spiritual and moral damage done to the world and the Church following World War II? Evidently, the Holy Father decided, with the grace and spiritual authority of the papacy, that because the consecration had not been done in time, what was now needed was a consecration of the whole world.

Our Lady did not say the whole world would be converted by the consecration of Russia, only that Russia would be converted before it would infect the whole world with atheism, immorality and the spirit of rebellion against the established civil order. The Pope apparently judged, reasonably, that in 1984 the conversion of Russia would only prevent further infection of the world by the errors of Russia, but would not repair the damage already done. And the damage already done was extremely grave! It was the Holy Father’s judgment that the whole world now needed the powerful help of Our Lady to counter the errors of Russia already established and active in the world: influencing world governments to approve abortion and all sorts of immoral behavior as protected and celebrated human rights.

So, St. John Paul II asked all the Catholic bishops of the Church to join him in consecrating the whole world to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, with special prayers for those countries such as Russia that particularly needed her intercession. Sister Lucia said the 1984 consecration was accepted by God, the Soviet Union collapsed and Russia officially returned to the Christian faith. Today daily prayer and Christian instruction are required in Russian public schools. In a public ceremony broadcast throughout Russia, President Vladimir Putin and his political staff kissed the Icon of Our Lady of Kazan, the holiest Image of Our Lady as Queen of Russia.

This is not to say that Putin is a saint, or that Russia is now a great political ally of the United States. They aren’t. But the fact remains that today Russia is officially “Christian” and there is no longer a Soviet Union bent on enslaving other nations under atheistic regimes.

But what good has that done for the United States? The errors of Russia continue to influence the corruption of our culture and the other formerly Christian cultures of the world. At least we no longer have the power and influence of the Soviet Union continuing to promote international atheism by ideology and by conquest. It’s now up to Catholics in every country to learn, live and spread the Message of Fatima in order to fulfill Our Lady’s primary request for prayer and penance in order to bring about the conversion of sinners, and in by this means to obtain the blessing of peace. It’s no longer a question of what Our Lady asked the Pope to do. He has done all he could. It is now a question of what Our Lady asked the rest of us to do, which is summarized in the WAF Pledge.

I believe the consecration done by St. JPII had some effect even if Russia wasn't clearly mentioned by name as per Our Lady's request. Sorry if the picture is offensive, especially the last image on the left! :(

The Blessed Mother ALWAYS defers to the Holy Father in matters of Church governance.

As for Russia being Consecrated by name, she was Consecrated by name on July 7, 1952. The problem was that it was not done in union with the Bishops of the world. In 1984, Pope John Paul II renewed the previous Consecration and this time it was done in union with the Bishops of the world. Sister Lucia clearly stated that Heaven accepted the 1984 Consecration.

The signs that this Consecration was accomplished are all around us: the West embraced the "errors of Russia" while Russia grows closer and closer to her Christian roots. We could even say that an era of peace was accomplished in the years following the Consecration, as the much feared nuclear war between the West and Russia was avoided. But now the old tensions have returned, this time with the West as the antagonist. The Triumph is what we hope for now. I think the Triumph will involve the healing of the oldest wound in the Mystical Body of Christ: the East-West Schism.

Now that Russia is converted from communism o_O we can all rest easy, we don't have to do the 5 First Saturday of Reparations (which today is one of them) and we only have to wait for the evil west to stop its acceptance of communism before the Triumph of the Immaculate Heart takes place. Sorry I am no buying it. Prophecy foretells that one day Russia's people will lead the rest of the world back to the one true faith, but it also foretells, before this happens, she (Russia's leader) will unleash a hell of fury upon the rest of the world. I am predicting it will start in 2015 and well into 2016.

Well, I never implied that the fight is over or that Russia is immune from Sin.

As for prophecies in general, please read Cardinal Ratzinger's commentary on the third secret of Fatima. He makes it perfectly clear that private revelation concerns itself with conditional prophecy. Heaven allows prophetic visions in order to spring us into action. The purpose of these visions is not to tell us the future or to satisfy our curiosity. These visions are not set in stone. The circumstances can and will change depending on our response:

"...the importance of human freedom is underlined: the future is not in fact unchangeably set, and the image which the children saw is in no way a film preview of a future in which nothing can be changed. Indeed, the whole point of the vision is to bring freedom onto the scene and to steer freedom in a positive direction. The purpose of the vision is not to show a film of an irrevocably fixed future. Its meaning is exactly the opposite: it is meant to mobilize the forces of change in the right direction. Therefore we must totally discount fatalistic explanations of the “secret”, such as, for example, the claim that the would-be assassin of 13 May 1981 was merely an instrument of the divine plan guided by Providence and could not therefore have acted freely, or other similar ideas in circulation. Rather, the vision speaks of dangers and how we might be saved from them..." - Cardinal Ratzinger

Well, all I can say is I find many of the arguments on both sides persuasive, but bottom line I trust Saint John Paul II. Once many years ago I read a magazine, maybe Fr. Gruner's, that convinced me, for the moment, of the one side of the argument. Inside the magazine was a little ready-to-mail postcard to Pope John Paul II asking him to consecrate Russia (this was after the 1984 consecration). I filled it out, signed it, put a stamp on it, and then stopped. I said to myself, do I know more than the pope on this issue? Isn't he the one who has received and studied these messages and issues surrounding them, and possible documents surrounding them, in full? Do I question his powers of reason? No, he's an accomplished professor of philosophy and wrote some of the most profound documents the church has. Do I question his faithfulness? A man who put on plays in Polish and then studied to be a priest under Nazi occupation, persisted in his vocation and became a bishop under communist occupation, became pope and then could have said, I'm older now, I did my part, let me enjoy life here in Rome, but did not and made a beeline for Krakow speaking of God and freedom, knowing he would bring a bullseye to his back for the rest of his life, is a faithful man. He lived his faith to fullest, always making the choice for God and evangelization, knowing he could be martyred at any minute, for his entire adult life. He was faithful to the end. Never mind all that, let's say he was not. Let's imagine he was an Alexander VI-type, generally recognized as the most corrupt pope ever. Our belief is that the Holy Spirit will not allow him to make a mistake in faith or morals. Alexander VI never made a major decision that changed anything, the Holy Spirit ensured that, not Alexander. How much more in tune with the Holy Spirit's guidance was John Paul II? God gave us this pope at that moment. He was in charge and if we are Catholics we trust that, period, just the same as we trust Peter's decisions, even though he was weak and had flaws. When Paul disagreed with him, he did not start a media campaign against him and claim he was a corrupt ancient-world version of an illuminati plant. He did not start his own church, like a protestant, and make his own "gospel according to Paul." He approached Peter respectfully with his views and Peter made the final decision at the first council of Jerusalem. As a result, we don't have two bibles and two Churches today, one according to Peter and one according to Paul. This is our tradition and our faith. Some claim evil people in the vatican "shut up" Lucia. Really? Someone who willingly accepted the disbelief of her own family, causing her indescribable suffering, someone who as a child was threatened with being boiled in oil, someone who gave her whole life to God as a contemplative nun was bullied by vatican masonic hit-men? Again, someone willing to be martyred just can't be bullied like that. Look at the recent martyrs in Libya that could have saved their lives by denying Christ and would not. John Paul II and Lucia were cut from that same cloth and I trust them. As I said, though, even if I did not, I trust the Holy Spirit who has guided the Church for 2000 years. Like the pope under house arrest said when Napoleon threatened to destroy the church, if Christians themselves had not accomplished that in 1800 years, there was nothing Napoleon could do. Finally, how many of us are doing the first 5 Saturdays? How many have made plans to go to confession today? Americans, are you going to a cookout today or to confession and mass? That is what we left undone from what Lucia told us. Let's all get to confession and mass on first Saturdays and once that happens let's revisit what remains to be done on the part of the Church.
