Please pray for the captured Christians in Syria. Apparently ISIS have already martyred 15 souls and I suppose will be killing the rest in time (there are about 200) in all. God have mercy. (This is an Israeli documentary.) http://www.aleteia.org/en/world/art...ristians-according-to-report-5817041432870912
Will be praying for those still alive but I suppose we can also pray and ask for the intercession of these new martyrs who are now saints of God, with Him in paradise for eternity.
Yes Mike the Blood of the Martyrs will bring great good. But I wonder if we ,as a Church are doing enough for these poor folks. I think a World Day of Prayer and Fasting at least would be good for a start.
This irreversibility of God's impending wrath is also reflected in the words attributed to Pope John Paul II during the 1980 Fulda conference in Germany: With your and my prayer it is possible to mitigate this tribulation, but it is no longer possible to avert it, because only thus can the Church be effectively renewed. How many times has the renewal of the Church sprung from blood! This time, too, it will not be otherwise. We must be strong and prepared, and trust in Christ and His Mother, and be very, very assiduous in praying the Rosary." (See the earlier post John Paul II - The Third Secret and a Prophecy of a Mega-tsunami?) It also recalls the words of Our Lady of Akita: "If sins increase in number and gravity, there will be no longer pardon for them".
Praying for all Christians in the middle east, may the Lord be with them during this terrible scourging.
Nov. 2 2014, was the International Day of Prayer for the Persecuted Church. info here http://www.persecution.com/idop I attended a prayer night for persecuted christian's in my local church on thursday, organised by the Knight of columbanus and it was mentioned that another international day is organised for this November
This may be of interest to you brother.. http://rorate-caeli.blogspot.com/2015/02/fiuv-pp-prayers-for-persecuted.html I was glad to have the opportunity to attend the prayer night on Thursday it was very worthwhile, the prayers and slide show where presented during adoration which was a bonus for me as I was unaware that adoration was included.. being a lapsed Knight of Columbanus it was also good to see they are still very very active in this matter...the only down side was ???? whatever happened to the TANTUM ergo I was looking forward to it at the end of adoration ?? it never happened
