The below is another "SIGN", (possible "Spark in the Powder Keg") that societal chaos is upon us. Oh!! Two years is plenty of time for the horrors that Charlie and a growing host of religious/secular folks are predicting! If it has not happened already, the Occupy Wall Street Anarchists, Black Lives Matter, Terrorist Front Groups and any number of Wack-O Left Fringe Organizations are already melding into a USA Domestic Wrecking Machine. Combine that with a PC, incompetent, dithering-n-feckless "leadership" in DC and every bankrupt Blue State you can name. Then throw in an Economy that is at Great Depression levels, unguarded Borders and a divided Nation ... divided along any number of lines ..... and recall history where evil demagogues used ignorant and excitable "Students", young people and those with real/imagined grievances to foment revolution, wars and nation destroying godlessness. You can chalk it down about Europe. Still, for our myriad problems, we don't seem to be as tyrannised by these new-fangled "social justice warriors" over here. Perhaps we are more temperamentally acclimatised because we've had them for longer. If this article is accurate it, it really will not help to gave cash even if you can get to it. It's incredible to think that banks will charge you to put your own money in the bank, but it is coming. And now that all the new CCs have thus chip readers in them, you will be tracked everywhere in terms of your spending. It's already happening even in "Fly-Over Country USA". I just bought a new truck to replace my 16 year old one. I'm, still, shopping for a camper shell to put on it and I'm finding out that nobody wants to give a discount for a cash sale. Credit Card or Cash = same price. As ya'll know, credit cards charge sellers 3-4% per transaction. There was a time, not long ago, when Cash got you a better deal ....... Something Wicked This Way Comes!!! GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!

To be honest, I am more concerned we will wake up one Monday to find the banks have closed their doors, like happened a couple of times in other countries in the last couple of years. Then what would we do. After all if the systems crash the credit cards wont work either I suppose. I think we need to have some cash ready for emergency. What is the point of banking it if there is a negative interest. The banks would charge you for having a credit balance which is crazy. So I would not bother to pay money in to be charged for it.
Hi Julia, The whole idea behind abolishing cash is so that everything would have to go thru the banks. Every time you use a debit or credit card at a business, the business is charged b/t 3-4% of the sale. My small business in a tiny town in LA. pays over $1000/month in fees to the banks for accepting credit and debit cards. The banks don't make any money when people pay for things with cash. The idea behind charging negative interest rates is to stimulate an economy. If an economy is slowing down, they can raise the interest rate on your money in the bank, hence giving you an incentive to spend it instead of losing it to taxes from the negative interest rate. Nice concept, but in the end, negative interest rates are just another tax and way for the banks to make $. It wasn't that long ago when people could leave money in the bank and make a little $ from interest. That was all before the Fed started trying to play "God" with the the world economy.
