Could I ask your prayers please to give me some peace,my heart is very very heavy at the minute, today my close friend/boss accused me of stealing from him ,he got it completely wrong and after a very heated argument he realised he got it totally wrong, he has apologised a few times by text but I cant raise my heart and have decided that I cant work for him anymore, as Padraig said the glass door is closed and things will never be the same..please pray for my peace of mind as I can certainly not afford not to be working...

I am one who struggles with forgiveness. I hold grudges and it is my biggest hurdle to get over. I know it is wrong and I felt for you when you said you are blocked by a "glass door" to forgiveness. I feel like that too at times. I know the answer is to ask God for help forgiving and just trust he will help me when I can't see my way over the hurdle. praying for you

QuD, will keep your intentions in prayer. Do not get angry at this, because you play right into the evil one's hand. Forgive and forget and you smack the devil right in the nose!

Praying for you John. I once confessed that I was having a hard time forgiving someone, and the priest said you will be forgiven as you have forgiven others. He was right...although at the time I was kind of mad he said that to me!

    John,

You are most certainly in my prayers. You mentioned that this just occurred on Friday. For someone close to you to question your character must be a grievous hurt. :( I would suggest one thing: if this incident is the only factor in moving you to resign, it might be better to wait a week before quitting. It is very difficult being objective and discerning God's will in the midst of such pain. Please wait a bit until the emotion is not so raw.

Come Holy Comforter and gently remind John he is a child of the Most High!

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

    John,

This must be a terrible feeling - a real sense of loss. I will keep you in pray and perhaps the only way to get through is to remind yourself that Our Lord Himself was falsely accused and maybe your uniting this pain you have to His pain and passion will lead to something good. Peace.

Every single reply is right on the mark!
Sometimes we need distance and time to help bring us to forgiveness, and it sounds like you may not have the benefit of either of those.
It is such a challenge to open a glass door that we have closed, but that is how we are tested.
I have no doubt that if you decide to walk away without forgiving then the prince of this world will make sure you have an easy time, and make everything seem better. But we are called to the cross.
Sometimes it helps me to think of Mary at the foot of the cross and how she must have felt - it helps to put my grievances into context.
God bless you and open your heart to forgiveness - that may be the light your boss needs to see.

P.s. I love the song you posted :)
Someone else posted this quote lately 1John 4:4
The one who is in you is more powerful than he who is in the world.

A really helpful and short prayer to say is:
Lord bless...( name whoever hurt you), and have mercy on me.

Just keep repeating this and the Lord will do what you can't.

Prayers going up John, another big Cross for you.

Yesterday at work three different ladies gave off to me. :D Unusual in the I can go months and no one looks cross eyed at me. But I think I would fall over in shock if my boss accused me theft.

A big Cross. God must have something very special in store for you.

Thank you all for your prayers and fantastic advice my friend an I are working through this and things are peaceful, I took great comfort in all of your advice and focused on the story my father gave me..

    Sand and Stone

A story tells of two friends who were walking through the desert. During some point of the journey, they had an argument, and one friend slapped the other one in the face. The one who got slapped was hurt, but without saying anything, he wrote in the sand:

"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SLAPPED ME IN THE FACE"

They kept on walking, until they found an oasis, where they decided to take a bath. The one who had been slapped got stuck in the mire and started drowning, but his friend saved him. After he recovered from the near drowning, he wrote on a stone:

"TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE"

The friend, who had slapped and saved him, asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote in the sand, and now, you write on a stone, why?"

The other friend replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down in sand, where the winds of forgiveness can erase it, but when someone does something good for us, we must engrave it in stone, so no wind can ever erase it."

LEARN TO WRITE YOUR HURTS IN THE SAND AND TO CARVE YOUR BLESSINGS IN STONE.

One of the 7 spiritual works of mercy is to forgive all injuries, a very difficult one. "Father forgive them for they know not what they do" - I will offer up DM chaplet for you and your boss.

Just a final update on this and thank you for your prayers, I have left my employment with my friend, I tried so hard to stand by him but unfortunately things just seemed to be getting worse and worse, he has in my opinion pushed the self destruct button called alcohol and is on a very slippery slope to disaster. I found myself being sucked into mess after mess to the point I was losing my temper and character. I decided to walk away before I and my family get caught up in the after math of his destruction, it was not an easy decision especially a financial one I was left unemployed at Christmas, I will be there to help pick up the pieces when my friend needs me as Mario said my glass door is open on my side ;) So back to the drawing board and the search again for employment, I am beginning to think that I truly am St Therese's little play thing her little ball.....

    Bounce away sister :love::love::love:
