Christianophobia: The second cross burning in Strunjan, Slovenia

In MSM we were able to read information that on Thursday, 10th May 2012 the cross on the hill overlooking Strunjan was burned for the second time. Dean Verzel and photographer Goran Bertok carried out the same act 10 years ago but were acquitted in court.

This time Dean Verzel teamed up with Andrej Medved, a philosopher and poet, who recited his poetry at the burning cross. »The cross does not symbolize spontaneity and freedom but hierarchy, subordination, dullness. Therefore it is a sign that has to fall. And with it every god, which is like petrification of fire« says Medved's song and continues »The burning of the cross and the fire are active anarchy, like realized active poetry. And the one who awakens dangerous anarchy is always its first victim.« Dean Verzel stated: »This was not an attack on the Christian religion. This was only an apparition. Every religion could understand my actions.«

    Act of Christianophobia

The time of this cross burning hints it was deliberately planned action to raise religious intolerance and degradation of religious symbols. This year in Strunjan they will celebrate the 500th anniversary of Marian apparitions and their church. In the advent of this anniversary the religious restored the cross last year. It was raised by seamen and fishermen in 1600 to safeguard them at sea.

Is it necessary to opress Christian symbols?

The burning of the cross as the votive image can be understood as a direct act of Christophobia which sows religious intolerance. It is interesting that the Slovene legal system allows such acts as well as discrimination, and thus encourages hatred against Christians. The reason is obvious-symbolic oppression of Christianity with the aim that the Christians in Slovenia would continue to be socially oppressed. One can ask the question why such artists never burn a flag in front of Parliament or one of the many communist memorials or even Islamic symbols. The reason is obvious- the courts would immediately sanction this kind of action. This was not the case of the first burning of the cross ten years ago, the »artistic« painting of Mary with a rat in her lap, the desacration of holy Mary of Ptuj, hate speech of the poet Svetlana Makarovič in January, etc.when the district attorney and courts did not want to find reasons for prosecution. With that they only increase the incidence of hate speech toward Christians. It is obvious that so called »artists« are only another name for ideological activists against Christians whose aim is to generate ideological e.g. symbolic second-class citizenship of Christians and to support unquestioned superiority of some of the militant secularists who pay no attention to human rights and basic principles of democracy.

How sad. May God have mercy on those poor, disillusioned souls.

    Luke 23:34
34 Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

When I was an atheist I simply thought of the idea of God or the hereafter as a fairy tale. But I felt no great pull to evangelise or look down my nose at believers or to burn crosses. For after all my family believed and it seemed to make them happy..and if it did it did more than my unbelief ever did for it only ever made me miserable.

I Read a prominent atheist lately who admitted it was philosophically impossible to prove conclusively that God did not exist. But he said that even if God did exist he would never obey Him; as to do so would simply make him a slave.

This strikes me as close as a thing to the rebellion of Lucifer as I have ever heard, Satan the Star of the Morning who said, 'I will not serve'. hence it is probably the most pure evil thing I have ever heard.

As part of Satanic initiation, their equivalent to Baptism ,candiadtes are asked to spit on, desecerate and destroy a cross as a sign of their rejection of Christ/God.

I wonder if this new evil might not be a preparation for the Great Sign? For them people will KNOW there is a God. This is getting them set for rejecting a God they currently don't believe in ?

He who hates the cross hates Christ.

He who loves the cross loves Christ.

It is sometimes hard to take in but we are living through the Book of Revelation in the great battle between the Red Dragon & the Lady clothed with the Sun.
