    I missed this news G.
Must have been when I was being good during Lent.:)

Very interesting.... ”Although the Church recognizes the Fatima apparitions, She does not desire to take the responsibility of guaranteeing the veracity of the words the three shepherd children said that the Virgin Mary had addressed to them.”

As usual this backs up those who believe ...Cardinal Ciappi. “In the Third Secret, it is foretold, among other things, that the great apostasy in the Church will begin at the top.”

100 year old Cardinal read Fatima’s “Third Secret” – Says it “concerns “an extraordinary event” and a “manifestation of the supernatural.”
Well that certainly does not make it sound like there will be an apocalyptic event.
It is all very confusing at times.
And the quote that Mac copied is confusing also, I thought approved apparition meant everything was approved...caveat, approval is only for a portion?
It sounds more and more like we are getting close to something, I don't know what that something is.
If I say anything else here it I might get myself into trouble.

My understanding is saints can be confirmed even if some writings might not be accepted. There is nothing theologically wrong but for whatever reason some writings might not be accepted.

    Strange :)

Mac, Thank you for the above information.

About a year ago I stated that I believed we have had our period of peace, ever since the Consecration of St Pope JP11 in 1984, which was acknowledged by Sr Lucia in the affirmative; I know that you disagree with that. And thats ok.

At the same time, about a year ago, I agreed with you that I believed maybe the full 3rd secret of Fatima had not been published in its entirety, as I believed that maybe Our Lady had given an explaination to Sr Lucia about the vision of the 3rd secret, just as she had done with the other 2 secrets.

What you have provided to us above is possibily a confirmation of this.

However I can not condemn the Church Fathers for not reavling it, as they did reveal the secret which was very symbolic: so technically they did as requested.

However they did not reveal Sr Lucia's explaination of the symbolism in the 3rd secret!

I think, they think 'they pulled a fast one on God'.;)

So really they should have given us the entirety of the message. But maybe they had their reasons. Who knows?

I will pray for Fr Gruner.

He wanted the secret [warts and all], like the rest of us, we all want to see all the cards on the table!

Yet it is another cross, but at least we can say we agree on some things and thats a good start!

    Thank you and God Bless

  8. Except that Pope Benedict as well as Pope JPII have alluded definitely to apocalyptic events using terms that would cause people to compare the frightening messages of Akita to what is contained in the full Fatima messages.. as well as Pope JPII holding up his rosary as THE means of mitigation and/or preparation for such catastrophic events.....and such knowledge by those (including lay people who have been permitted to read the entire third secret) is just why the faithful have been controlled from the same understanding. As stated in some messages today....this withholding has been a "grievous offense against the laity" for which the Church itself must ask forgiveness. When our Lady says "in order to prevent THIS" she is including the entirety of what is to come (without the consecration of Russia being done) and that is why the public has been led to become complacent and is not continuing to act as requested by our Lady since the Church has essentially relegated Fatima to the past as some "done deal" not to worry any longer about....as was especially done intentionally by C. Bertone....in his handling of the Third Secret as well as Sr. Lucia herself.

Fr Amorth confirms again that the Consecration is not done....

“ The Consecration has not been made,” says Rome’s Chief exorcist Father Gabriel Amorth. In the October 2015 issue of the pro-life journal Faithful Insight, Italy’s Mauro Faverzani interviewed well-known Rome exorcist Father Gabriel Amorth. The brief interview touched on topics concerning Fatima, the Consecration of Russia and events in the future. Father Amorth’s statements tally with what he told The Fatima Center in
    2012.

And still thinks a chastisement is close...

Faithful Insight asked: “There are rumors you had recently indicated a period of eight months, maybe less… But, as I understand it, there is not a precise time.” Father Amorth responded: “I think it is early. I think we are close. More and more so. The Lord will make Himself heard, and the world will respond. I look upon all this with optimism, because God always acts for us to obtain a greater good than the punishment inflicted, which are meant to open the eyes of humanity, which has forgotten and abandoned Him.” Father Amorth closed with the admonition: “We must listen to that which Our Lady says.”

  10. Again it seems we may have the motivation for this posting about the 3rd secret. It is there in the last sentence of the above link "a condemnation and nullification of everything that has happened in the church since 1960." How destructive and divisive is that?

And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it' a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father'.

    Fr Alonso...

Father Joaquin Alonso, who for sixteen years was the official archivist of Fatima, wrote a monumental work on the Fatima Message, entitled Fatima Texts and Critical Studies. This book, which consists of 24 volumes containing 5,396 documents, was withheld from publication by the Bishop of Leiria-Fatima, Msgr. Alberto Cosme do Amaral, at its completion in 1975. Since then, only two of the 24 volumes have been released for publication, and these were heavily edited.

I just noticed this footnote as I reread this article in the latest crusader magazine....http://www.fatimacrusader.com/cr114/The Secret of Fatima.pdf

About this, Frère Michel writes: “Father Alonso understood quite well to what extent the content of the Secret, and this alone, prevented the Popes from revealing it. In his last article on the Secret of Fatima, written just a few weeks before his death, while he prudently gave the appearance of justifying Rome’s silence, he wrote these remarkable clairvoyant lines: ‘An inopportune revelation of the text would only have further exasperated the two tendencies which continue to tear the Church apart: a traditionalism which would believe itself to be assisted by the Fatima prophecies, and a progressivism which would have lashed out against these apparitions, which in such a scandalous manner would seem to put the brakes on the conciliar Church’s forward progress . . . Pope Paul VI judged it opportune and prudent to delay the revelation of the text until better times. Pope John XXIII declared that the text did not refer to his pontificate . . . And the following Popes did not consider that the moment had come to lift the veil of mystery, in circumstances where the Church has still not overcome the frightening impact of twenty post-conciliar years, during which the crisis of the Faith has installed itself at every level.’ (Ephemerides mariologicae, 1982, ‘De nuevo el Secreto de Fátima,’ p. 93.) “Stupefying words: revealing Our Lady’s prophecies, the Fatima expert explains to us, would come to clearly vindicate the defenders of tradition and uphold them in their struggle, and on the contrary, restrain and disavow the supporters of the ‘Conciliar Reform’ to the point of infuriating them against Fatima.” (Frère Michel, vol. III, pp. 711-712.) (17) Abbé Georges de Nantes, “Open Letter to Cardinal Ratzinger,” January 1985; Frère Michel, vol. III, p. 825.

    More from Fr Alonso....
Before his death in 1981, Father Alonso stated the following important conclusions concerning the Third Secret:

It is therefore completely probable that the text makes concrete references to the crisis of faith within the Church and to the negligence of the pastors themselves [and the] internal struggles in the very bosom of the Church and of grave pastoral negligence by the upper hierarchy.1

In the period preceding the great triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, terrible things are to happen. These form the content of the third part of the Secret. What are they? If ‘in Portugal the dogma of the Faith will always be preserved,’ ... it can be clearly deduced from this that in other parts of the Church these dogmas are going to become obscure or even lost altogether.2

Thus it is quite possible that in this intermediate period which is in question (after 1960 and before the triumph of the Immaculate Heart of Mary), the text makes concrete references to the crisis of the Faith of the Church and to the negligence of the pastors themselves.3

Does the unpublished text speak of concrete circumstances? It is very possible that it speaks not only of a real crisis of the faith in the Church during this in-between period, but like the secret of La Salette, for example, there are more concrete references to the internal struggles of Catholics or to the fall of priests and religious. Perhaps it even refers to the failures of the upper hierarchy of the Church. For that matter, none of this is foreign to other communications Sister Lucy has had on this subject.4

Father Alonso also believed that the Third Secret concerned "internal struggles in the very bosom of the Church and of grave pastoral negligence by the upper hierarchy," and of "deficiencies of the upper hierarchy of the Church."

Significantly, Sister Lucy never corrected these conclusions of Father Alonso, even though she had never hesitated to correct other statements by clerics and various authors concerning Fatima when they were in error. As the official Fatima archivist, Fr. Alonso had access to the documents and to Sister Lucy herself. Thus, his testimony is of capital importance.
