Thank you for sharing. In prayer, I find my words usually very limited. I just think of the people that I want to pray for, say their names in my heart, and tell our Lord that I'm praying for them. Very rarely do I ask for specific intentions. I cannot bring myself to tell Jesus that I want/need this, that and the other. I feel that He already knows, and He will answer. So the way you describe this prayer resonates with me. Thank you Seagrace.
Cornhusker, since you asked for the prayers today, and I've already been to mass, I will say them at home. But tomorrow morning, I will pray again at mass. God Bless.
Seagrace, I am so grateful that you posted the link and told us about your prayer needs. I am overwhelmed by the beauty and holiness of the icon. Thank you. Cornhusker, you've got my prayers as well.
I would greatly appreciate prayers for my father-in-law who died on Saturday. He was a good man but I'm not sure how adherent he was to Church teachings, especially in the last few years. Better than most probably but he was in failing health and my mother-in-law was not as adherent. Thankfully, he did receive last rites but I believe he will be cremated and his ashes spread over the beach or something like that. His name was Robert.
Cathy, I am so sorry to hear this. I always remember what Padre Pio once said that people at the point of death get a chance to meet the God of Love face to face and to choose. St Teresa of Avila also said it is possible for people to become saints in the space of one , 'Our Father' if we respond to grace aright. So ther eis always the greatest hope. Praying for you and your family and the soul of Robert at mass tomorrow and praying this evening walking the dogs. You are blessed to have Faith at this time, for Faith is a source of the Greatest Hope. ...and consolation.
Lord, I Trust in You and your message that was given to St Faustina. The fact that you reach out to ALL souls at the moment of death, and for some time thereafter, gives me great hope. Thank You for that message of Hope and I pray that Robert and all that die this day that they Reach Back. AMEN!! GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!
Cathy, so sorry about the loss that your family has suffered. Prayers for the repose of Robert's soul, and that the Holy Spirit will console the family in their loss. Let us know on the forum if there is anything we can do.
“As often as you hear the clock strike the third hour, immerse yourself completely in My mercy, adoring and glorifying it; invoke its omnipotence for the whole world, and particularly for poor sinners; for at that moment mercy was opened wide for every soul. In this hour you can obtain everything for yourself and for others for the asking; it was the hour of grace for the whole world — mercy triumphed over justice.” (Diary 1572)
My sympathies, Cathy. I will say a prayer for Robert. May God rest his soul. We haven't heard from Sparrow in a while. I wonder if her son is ok. Prayers for Andy too.
Prayers for Robert and your family. Eternal rest grant unto Robert, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him and may he rest in peace. Amen.
I will offer up my next Divine Mercy. Beginning to think I have some form of OCD as I say such when I hear of a death. I have read it may place me at the side of the deceased as they pass over. Anyone may do that of course....... Jesus I trust in you.
