By the way, I am not certain, but I think that St. Louis DeMontfort (the originator of the Devotion) said that the Feast of the Annunciation (March 25th) was the most perfect day to do the Consecration on, which is when we will end up doing it if we start on February 20th :)

Good I don't think you will be disappointed. :) It is a very, very special devotion. It will make you intimately close to Mary and she will lead you to her Son.

If you have any questions between now and then feel free to ask.

I will try an join again if we can make this preparation for Consecration to Jesus through Mary starting 20th February.

I have found each time I make the preparation for Consecration, I learn something new. It is as if Blessed Mother is allowing me to practice until I get it right. I have fallen in love with some of the prayers we say on the days.

I remember Mac reminding us to say the Magnificat when we receive Holy Communion, and say this beautiful prayer either before or after Holy Communion.

Just a reminder, we are now on day One Week 2 on the preparation for Consecration at 25th March.
The thread 2017 Consecration Preparation can be found about the sixth thread down on the Consecration thread options and has all the reading and prayers linked when you go there. I thought this might be easier to find and follow. The latest readings can be found on page 5 of the thread. Hope this helps.

Oh Praetorian, I hope you are plodding along with fervour on this Consecration preparation. I read on another thread you were having a bit of a hiccup in the spiritual walk. Please God you are getting through ok. Your struggle might be part of the Battle Plan in the Consecration Preparation. God bless you and send you gallons of Heavenly Grace to see you through. :)

This would be a good place to ask my question. Since first hearing about daily consecration to Christ through our Mother, I have not really understood it. I have always associated consecration of one's life in terms of vowing to remain single or being part of a Religious Community. I am & have been devoted to Christ and our Mother, doing my best to follow the Will of our Lord.

I have read they want us to consecrate ourselves to them ahead of events...I have no doubt more graces and protections are associated with this.

Thanks for any feedback that may follow.

ComeSoon, I can TRY and share how I understand the Consecration. But expect one of the other articulate posters to do a better job. Just so you don't have to wait in case it takes some time for someone to see your question. Here goes.

If you consider the special graces and blessings we receive when we partake of the Sacraments of the Church, like Confession, Holy Communion etc., then think how making a personal Consecration or act of Trust in Jesus through Mary, you are on your way to expecting a special grace for your act of Faith, Hope and Trust in the infinite treasure of hidden graces available when we Knock by our efforts, Seek by our efforts, Ask by our efforts. Please don't mistake my comparison as making the Consecration equal to the Sacraments; it is meant to explain how graces and blessings can not be grasped in the same way as material things. Hope that makes sense.

In a way I feel that St Luis de Montfort has found a beautiful means to focus our minds on a day when we can offer ourselves in the service of the Lord through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The preparation starts 33 days before the designated day, so we are each day led to read a little from scripture, and say designated prayers. Finally we say the Act of Consecration after having followed the discipline of the required prayers, and can hope Blessed Mother will intercede with Jesus Who will accept our efforts and grant us Graces to enable us to serve Him more faithfully in our lives.

Well, that is sort of how I see it. And we know, we can never outdo God in generosity. Maybe we will only know in Eternity what it is worth to God. And indeed what it is worth to our souls.

I am not aware of any events to prepare for other than when we meet our own demise, which eventually comes to us all, regardless of events in the world.

Oh, by the way. We were taught as children to make an act each day for example.
'Oh my God, I offer Thee the joys and sorrows of today.' This is a morning offering.

'Thank You God, for taking me safely through the day.' This is an evening thanksgiving.

There is a longer morning offering, when we can offer the Sacred Heart of Jesus all the prayers good works and sufferings during the day in reparation for the sacreliges , outrages, offenses and blasphemies committed by sinners everywhere against Jesus and Mary. We offer this through the intercession of the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I think this is a kind of daily Consecration of our lives to Jesus through Mary.

I receive this longer morning offering in my email daily. I had thought that was a form of daily consecration. Thank you for your explanation.

Congratulations to all who have remained on the Marian trail and completed the 33 days Preparation and made the Consecration today. And God bless those who started and were not able to complete the course this time. Next time please God will be successful for those who couldn't complete on this occasion.

Please God we are all ready to be the Spiritual Warriors Blessed Mother is seeking in our troubled word. May Her Immaculate Heart Triumph, and God send us a much needed period of His Peace, in Jesus Name. Amen.

Julia, I went to Mass earlier this morning so that I could recite the Consecration prayer kneeling before the tabernacle. I'm happy. It just felt so good.

Congratulations Julia and Shae for your perseverance! How wonderful it is to make or redo our Consecration. ComeSoon, I will be starting my renewal of Consecration on April 10 and praying the special prayer of Consecration on May 13th. Not only will the 13th be a Sunday, but it is in that week that I will be ordained to the Permanent Diaconate. You and everyone else are welcome to join. Last year I followed St. Louis de Montfort's meditations. This year I will pray with Fr. Gaitley's meditations. I look forward to once more formally entrusting everything to Jesus through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. I will be posting each day's meditation here. I would love to do it with you!:):coffee:

    My friends,

I have a tremendously burdensome schedule through Monday, 4/16, and have mostly blocked my MOG access through that Monday. So I am going to start my 33 Days on April 18 to end on the new feast day established by Pope Francis to be celebrated on May 21st this year!

    https://cruxnow.com/vatican/2018/03/03/pope-francis-establishes-new-feast-mary-mother-church/

This celebration will help us to remember that growth in the Christian life must be anchored to the Mystery of the Cross, to the oblation of Christ in the Eucharistic Banquet and to the Mother of the Redeemer and Mother of the Redeemed, the Virgin who makes her offering to God,” it said.

I'm not saying you should necessarily follow this new schedule of mine. In a sense I must. And so I will renew my consecration 2 days after my Diaconate ordination, and one day after I first preach in my parish on Pentecost Sunday!

    Safe Under Mary's Mantle!

Good for you Sanctus. I blew it. Everything went haywire for me today. I'm worn out and in a crotchety mood after over an hour each way negotiating city traffic. On top of that, I can't find my book with the format and prayers for the 33 days. While I know that it's not too late to start today, I was playing catch-up from the beginning of my last attempt. I want to do it properly this time, so I'm going to leave it until the 18th and start on the same day as Mario. To make sure I'm properly prepared this time, I'm going to use the kindle edition of Totus Tuus, read through the beginning of it and make a proper plan for making the preparations as early as possible on each of the 33 days. According to some of the reviews, the Totus Tuus book includes some of St. John Paul's insights which I think will be more helpful to me. Here's the blurb: https://www.amazon.com/Totus-Tuus-C...coding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=EM45EA4MAFVXKVPNN883

If you can, please spare a prayer for me that I don't mess it up again.
