St Januarius was a Bishop of Naples who is believed to have been martyred around the year 305 during the Diocletian persecution. His blood is kept in a sealed glass ampoule in Naples Cathedral and traditionally liquefies three times a year: on September 19, December 16 and the Saturday before the first Sunday of May. But during Mass at the Royal Chapel at Naples Cathedral on Friday, the Abbot of the Chapel, Monsignor Vincenzo De Gregorio, revealed that the blood had failed to become liquid, according to reports. The Abbot asked the faithful to keep praying while waiting but by 7.15pm, the vial was returned to the shrine, “undoubtedly solid,” as stated by Abbot Vincenzo. Before ending the ritual, he said: “We shouldn’t think of tragedies and calamities. We are men of faith and we must keep on praying.” As far as many people of Naples are concerned, the blood remaining solid can be a premonition of evil. The same things happened in 1980, when a earthquake hit South Italy; 1973, when Naples endured an outbreak of cholera; 1939, when World War II began; 1940, when Italy joined the War and 1943, when Italy was occupied by the Nazis. The blood partially liquefied in the presence of the Pope, during his visit to Naples in March 2015.

I think the reason why Italians and particularly the people of Naples believe in this is that it works. Every time the blood does not liquify something bad happens. It's hard to argue with this. It reminds me of the famous Italian atheist Philosophy Professor who was asked the question, 'Do you believe in the, 'Evil Eye'? ' To which he responded, 'Of course not how could I?' Then there was a pause and he added... '....all the same it exists!' A very Italian way of looking at things. We could say the same of the blood of St Januarius ; believe it or don't believe in it, it works.

Oh, you think that I am Don's Carol, no no. I hope that he and his family pray for me too. I always pray for you and our MOG family. Are you saying that nothing bad happened this past year? Methinks you were not paying attention. I think this past year was one of the most devastating for the Church in it's history.
The story goes when it doesn’t liquify some thing major happens in that are of Italy. Bad things happen all the time
When it doesn't liquify something very bad happens in Italy. Not a car crashing or an electricity outage. We're talking a volcano going off or a Nazi invasion. I would say the events in the Vatican this past year qualify as something very bad, but to each his own Merry Christmas!

I have read this prophecy several times before. I do not vouch for Ralph Martin as I have not studied him, but in my opinion the words here are pretty much spot on. As I was reading it something related to it occurred to me. It seems to me that Our Lord is withdrawing His Grace and allowing the world and the Church to go their own way and give in to their passions. Yet at the same time, I have never felt such an outpouring of Grace upon me as I do currently and it seems to be increasing. Similar to what Mr. Martin seems to be describing here. I would bet many of you feel the same. I cannot make heads nor tails of this at least as far as I am concerned because if I am being totally honest I think I am probably one of the biggest sinners here I don't pray nearly enough and I am not making the sacrifices and penances I know I should.

P, we are all sinners here That is why the Lord instituted Confession We may not think we are doing penances But Our Lady spoke of the sacrifices required of us by our daily duties Plus we all have trials and tribulations I can look back at my life and see where it has not turned out the way I wanted it to But the Lord always has the final say He has always bailed me out We have been shaped by His will and His grace And He will continue
