Where Are We At Now With Prophecy and Signs of our Times?

    Sparrow,

This is something that I came up with recently and I feel that I should post about it. Member ComingSoon posted about the book After The Warning 2038 on the North Korea/Iran thread and soon after doing so, I started reading the book The Prophets and Our Times by Rev. Culleton. The first edition of the latter book was written in 1941 and it contains the prophecies in your post which point to the end of a 4 year war occurring in the year when Easter falls on the Feast of Saint Mark. In his book, Rev. Culleton even goes so far to say that this concurrence will occur in the years 1943 and 2038, as your post mentions.

In Rev. Culleton's book, he includes the prophecies of Wedrin d'Otrante (13th cent.), St. Bridget of Sweden (d. 1373), Nostradamus (d. 1566),Venerable Magdalene Porzat (d. 1850) which all spoke of this prophecy. One of the reasons that I am very interested in this prophecy is because I have felt that the Revelation 12 Sign could be a sign that the we are entering a new era, which many refer to as the era of peace or the time of the Great Monarch and the Holy Pope.

The following are all the prophecies contained in Rev. Culleton's book which are contributed to Werdin d'Otrante (13th cent.):

"The Great Monarch and the Great Pope will precede AntiChrist."

"The nations will be in wars for four years and a great part of the world will be destroyed. All the sects will vanish. The capital of the world will fall. The Pope will go over the sea carrying the sign of redemption on his forehead, and after the victory of the Pope and the Great Monarch peace will reign on earth."

"The Pope will cross the sea in a year when the Feast of St. George (April 23rd) falls on Good Friday, and St. Mark's feast (April 25th) falls on Easter Sunday, and the feast of St. Anthony (June 13th) falls on Pentecost and the feast of St. John the Baptist (June 24th) falls on Corpus Christi."

"The Great Monarch will come to restore peace and the Pope will share in the victory."

    Ref. http://ia800200.us.archive.org/2/items/TheProphetsAndOurTimes/TheProphetsAndOurTimes.pdf page 150.

Now, the following is totally conjecture on my part but it is the only thing that makes sense to me at the moment in regards to this prophecy and what is currently going on in the world and all of the purported signs that many people feel are occurring lately. I looked up when April 25th falls on a Sunday and this happens in the following years; 2021, 2027, 2032 and 2038. IMHO, we could be on the verge of something very grave occurring in the world in terms of a war, imminent so to speak, therefore 2021 seems more likely for this 4 year war to end assuming, of course, that these prophecies are true and they are referring to the next war. The problem is that April 25th, 2021 is not Easter Sunday. Then, I wondered what is the possibility that a common Easter Sunday would be declared before 2021 and I found an article which discusses this very thing.* I couldn't find an article which proposes making the 4th Sunday of April Easter but if a different Sunday is chosen as the common date for Easter before the year 2038 then this prophecy may never come true.

In addition, Conchita of Garabandal has stated that The Miracle will coincide with an important event for the Church"** that has never happened in Conchita's life. Some people believe that this event might be the declaration of a new Marian dogma but The Assumption was defined as dogma by the Church in 1950 and Conchita was born in 1949. I have also heard people wonder if the event is related to the unification of the Churches but this seems like something that would occur after the Miracle. The declaration of a common date for Easter would be related to Church unity which IMHO makes it a good candidate for the event of the Church which will coincide with the Miracle. It is also interesting that the Revelation 12 Sign, The Woman Clothed With The Sun, is mentioned in the following article which discusses the Miracle of Garabandal.

Finally, I also find it interesting that Bruno Cornacchiola, the seer from Tre Fontane, is related to the Assumption and to Our Lady of Revelation whom appeared to him for the first time in 1947 on April 12th which might, in fact, be the date of the Miracle of Garabandal in 2018. In addition, IMHO this apparition appears to be related to Fatima. The following is from a recent article about this apparition:

From the first apparition in 1947, signs and marvels are said to have continued over the years, particularly on successive April 12ths, the anniversaries of the first apparition. Many miraculous cures have been claimed by touching the earth of the grotto, and in 1980 the first "miracle of the sun" took place, to be repeated in 1986 as reported in Il Tempo (A large daily newspaper in Rome, Italy).

Of course, I could be wrong about all of this - time will tell.

Padraig, Carol and all the rest of you here at MOG - have you heard the latest from Raymond Arroyo? He announced the Pope is empowering local Bishops to create and approve their own translations of the Mass. It dawned on me that if the Consecration prayer is not done correctly, then it will not turn the bread into His true presence. So the prophecy that Christ will not be present in the Catholic Churches is here.

Byron, I know, member Luan posted an article about this last night on the Vatican Has Fallen thread. I wish that I knew without a hint of doubt what is truly going on but I do not. I think that more and more news about this will come out soon which will help us understand the current situation much better.

All the more reason to attend the Latin Rite whenever possible. Cling to what we know is true before it is swept away.

That's exactly what I thought when I saw the report. I would be very careful about attending Mass in countries where I wasn't fluent in the local language. You could attend Mass in, for example, Germany and the Communion you receive would be nothing more than bread and wine. I need to start checking out where Latin Mass is celebrated here because even if our Bishops don't take the Lutheran route we already have priests who take it upon themselves to "improve" the Mass making it more "understandable" and "inclusive".

I'm just floored. I have a Latin mass a few blocks from where I live that I can walk to. But I was so upset when it turned into a Melkite Church. Now I feel so fortunate.

Considering so very few even understand Latin today, it would serve the average Catholic to keep with the vernacular and find a faithful priest who's say's mass in the correct manner. Most under 60 would not know a thing said in the Latin. I would have no problem with Latin, but fall into the crowd that served in the last few years of the Latin mass.

Very interesting, C55. For a longtime I have I thought that the first and last dates of Marian apparitions are signalling events.

    JAK,

It is interesting to note that the only time April 12th falls on a Thursday in an even-numbered year from now through 2038, is this year 2018.

It is also thought that the number 18 is greatly associated to Garabandal.

I should state that the purpose of my other post is not to make a prediction for the Miracle date because member Aviso has already picked this date. I suppose my analysis might further prove the possibility of this date for the Miracle but the main thing I would like to draw attention to is the fact that the other prophecies in Sparrow's post point to war and if I am correct about 2018 for the Miracle then the other prophecies would be pointing to war beginning soon. :(

Faithful priests will be increasingly hard to find. We're fortunate to have faithful priests in our parish now but there's no telling what we could get in the future. I'm beginning to think it would be better to swell the numbers attending Latin Mass now rather than see it abandoned altogether for lack of numbers in the pews. There's a better chance that a priest who takes the trouble to learn Latin will use the correct words of consecration.

However, a shift to Latin for most would be a shocker. Again, anyone under 60 would be in lala land, unless they had been attending for a while. I am not convinced that the mass must go back to Latin to be valid or fulfilled. I know more than a few good faithful priest who know little Latin and who would remain faithful in the vernacular.

I was going through my file of Hebrew Dates, seeing if there was anything significant there about the date of April 12 (there isn't) but I ran across something that sent a shiver down my spine. I'm copying my notes directly here:

UN Resolution establishing Israel (BTW, the resolution also established an Arab state of Palestine, but the Arab states rejected it and attacked Israel the day after the British left.)
(NB: 1 Macc 1:54 15 Kislev is the date "...the king erected the desolating abomination upon the altar of burnt offerings, and in the surrounding cities of Judah they built pagan altars.")
. 17 Kislev 5708 -- 29 Nov 1947 (NOTE: the vote happened on 29 Nov. 1947 (16 Kislev); however, since it was after sundown in both
New York and Jerusalem, it occurred on 17 Kislev in the Hebrew Calendar.)

    . 17 Kislev 5778 -- 04/05 Dec 2017

This Dec. 5th is the 70th anniversary of the UN vote establishing the Modern State of Israel.

So now, read this excerpt from Zechariah 1:7-17: (NABRE)

In the second year of Darius, on the twenty-fourth day of Shevat, the eleventh month, the word of the LORD came to the prophet Zechariah, son of Berechiah, son of Iddo:
I looked out in the night, and there was a man mounted on a red horse standing in the shadows among myrtle trees; and behind him were red, sorrel, and white horses. Then the angel who spoke with me answered, “I will show you what these are. who was standing among the myrtle trees: “We have been patrolling the earth, and now the whole earth rests quietly.” Then the angel of the LORD replied, “LORD of hosts, how long will you be without mercy for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah that have felt your anger these seventy years?” To the angel who spoke with me, the LORD replied favorably, with comforting words.

Oracular Response. The angel who spoke with me then said to me, Proclaim: Thus says the LORD of hosts:

    I am jealous for Jerusalem
    intensely jealous.
    I am consumed with anger
    toward the complacent nations;
When I was only a little angry,
    they compounded the disaster.
    Therefore, thus says the LORD:
    I return to Jerusalem in mercy;
my house will be rebuilt there—oracle of the LORD of hosts—
and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.
Proclaim further: Thus says the LORD of hosts:
    My cities will again overflow with prosperity;
the LORD will again comfort Zion,
    and will again choose Jerusalem.

I've emphasized the "70 years" and the dates. Now, the "70 years) may refer to the upcoming anniversary on Dec. 5, or it may be on 9 April 2019, which is the 70th anniversary of Jordan signing an armistice with Israel and establishing the Green Line dividing the city. I guess we'll have to see.

I agree with you that Latin is not essential for Mass to be valid or fulfilled. I'm one of those "rigid" Catholics who is happy to have Mass in the vernacular. I don't know whether the priests in our parish could say Mass in Latin but I do know that they are good, faithful priests who say Mass reverently. I would be reluctant to by-pass Sunday Mass in our parish to seek out a Latin Mass because I believe that faithful priests deserve our support. Nevertheless, those priests can be moved on at the whim of the Bishop so I'm trying to work out my options should that happen. Even if the Bishop is what Pope Francis would call "rigid", heterodox clergy are empowered now that he is enabling and supporting all sorts of dubious practices and not many Bishops will risk a revolt from clergy who have backing from the Vatican. I have a feeling that our parish would be one of the more desirable posts in the diocese.

I feel blessed to have a Priest and Parish which not only celebrates the Latin Mass but also Baptizes and blesses Sacraments in Latin as well. It is part of the reason why I drive out of my home Parish and to the one in the town nearby.

I am not one to think that the Mass must be said in Latin and feel very reverent at the NO Mass also. I will admit though that it is different in some way and that I do enjoy the Latin Mass greatly. However, if things change with the interpretation of translations and Liturgy changes as a result I do not have the breadth of understanding to know if a valid Mass is being said. At least with the Latin Mass I know. I don't see what the big deal is with Latin. So long as a Missal is handy it really doesn't seem that hard to follow along.

Here is a little tidbit. I'm not sure where to put it so I will just drop it here. My brother and sister-in-law just returned from a trip to Poland. My brother's company is moving over there and he flies over a few times a year to train his replacement. So this time his wife came with him. On Sunday they went to Mass as usual. After Mass the priest asked them to stay behind so he could speak to them. They had no idea what he could want.

In short he said to them. "Next time you will not be disrespectful." They didn't understand. He held out his hands open one over the other faced up. He told them they do not receive Holy Eucharist that way. He showed them to cross their arms over their chests and stick their tongues out. This was no traditional Church, it was just a regular Sunday Mass.

In addition to that they also learned that skirts above the knee or sleeveless shirts are not allowed in church. No, I don't think this Church is going to be adopting the Modernist philosophies any time soon.

If the miracle comes April of 2018, according to Glenn, the Warning will then come between January to March of 2018. I remember reading the Warning arrives on a cold day.

That is awesome Praetorian. This idea of receiving in the hand is something that should be corrected IMO. Also, modest dress is very considerate to others and something I really appreciate. Some of us men are easily distracted and I always appreciate it when the ladies take modesty seriously.

Apologies as I know dates are annoying to some. As I said earlier, the dates of Marian apparitions have a significance we don't yet understand.

The apparitions that cover the time in this discussion are the Bishop approved apparitions in Beauraign, Belgium which took place between 29 Nov 1932 and the 3rd of Jan 1933. Mary appeared to five children 33 times.

At Beauraing, as at Lourdes, very little was said.

    "Always be good."

Mary indicated that she was the Immaculate Virgin when questioned, and told the children to return on 8 December, the feast of the Immaculate Conception. When asked by Fernande if she wanted a chapel built, she replied, "Yes," before disappearing.

Mary again asked for a chapel.

"My last apparition will take place soon."

    "Pray, pray very much."

    "Pray always"

Mary told the children that she would speak to each of them separately and gave each a secret before bidding them farewell.

    "Goodbye." (to Gilberte Degeimbre)
"I will convert sinners. Goodbye." (to Gilberte Voisin)
    "Goodbye." (to Albert Voisin)
"I am the Mother of God, the Queen of Heaven. Pray always, Goodbye." (to Andree Degeimbre)

Mary appeared later and spoke to Fernande Voisin asking her if she loved her Son and herself; when Fernande replied that she did, the response was: "Then sacrifice yourself for me." "Goodbye."

I do believe the dates are significant.
