During homily, today is about unlimited mercy. God is all merciful. Unlike the Koran, of you read that it is anything but mercy. So mean spirited. Sarcasm My church is blessed with two amazing priests who always speak out.
You are blessed. Our priests don't do any talking out but neither do they take flights of fancy with the faith so I reckon we, too, are blessed. I was in the city on Saturday and attended Mass in a church there. The priest told us he was just back from a trip to Germany where he had gone to see a performance of Les Miserables. According to that priest, the Bishop in Les Mis is God. I suppose that Victor Hugo's work is as magisterial as any these days especially after a trip to Germany.
These are terrible days we are living through, but there are great blessings too. The young priest at the hospital is very saintly. He was a Protestant from a very anti Catholic family who since he was converted no longer talk to him. He was converted by some kind of Eucharistic miracle. He has the most intense Devotion to Our Lady, so remarkable in a Protestant convert. The priests at the Tridentine mass I go to on Sunday are remarkable also. So wonderful to listen to homilies and not to have to keep one ear open for priests going right off the rails. It is like going back in a time machine to my youth. On the forum too people are very good. I notice how more and more have a common understanding of what is going on. I think we are being led in this by the Holy Spirit who has not deserted us. These are times of biter confusion it is true but I can't help thinking that the smoke of Satan is clearing a lot and the enemies we face become so much easily seen. I was thinking last night on the Church Feast, 'The Chair of Peter'. Notice that the Feast celebrates the Office of the Papacy rather than specific Popes. People I think become confused about this. There have been many evil Popes in history. Happilly in the last century or so we have been truly blessed in our Popes. So I think we have come to expect that every Pope will be a saint and something of religious genius,but this does not have to be so. It has been such a blessing to have widely read Catholic Prophecy it gives great insight into these times. You know at the end of the day those who are destined to go to hell will go to hell; those who are meant to go to heaven will go to heaven. No one goes to either heaven or hell by accident. Confusing as these times are we all have the voice of our conscience to listen to. So no matter who tells us that wrong is right it is at the end of the day up to us to choose. To choose light or darkness. As we go on I think the grey mist will clear a lot more and the darkness will reveal itself more fully. The difficulty is if we start to walk down a dark road a while, led by bad leaders it becomes harder to turn back.
I am reading a strange but interesting novel at the moment. I don't usually read novels anymore but this one caught my attention. it is so Catholic and comments on our current situation in the Church. I think this book touches on thing I think is true and that the power of the devil has grown really huge. One thing it mentions is the use of black magic and Satanism among the worlds Elites. I notice the authors good insight in her presentation of characters. For instance Mario an Italian hairdresser who has divorced his wife, is estranged from his children and forces his mistress to have an abortion. So everthing is breaking up and falling apart all around him, he is described as a jerk. On the other hand a young American girl the daughter of extremely rich parents who joins a radically Traditionalist Catholic order and works among the poor in Scotland. A real separation of sheep from goats. But I was really interested in the portrayal of Black Magic/Satanism, it maybe wonder where she learnt about all this and how real it is?
