I have very bad anxiety it is taking me away from Jesus. And my head is telling me that I can't be a christain and take meds. I'm at the end of it I'm so tired fighting this battle. Can Christians be 100 percent Christ loving while still taking meds? Do God put meds in the world to help. Jesus told Paul to go to luke and get some wine for his stomach!!
My answer is that as long as you are under the care of a doctor and you are staying with a prescription you can be 100% Christ loving.
Of course you can take meds! As long as they are prescribed by a Dr. And are not harming you. When Jesus cured the blind man, he picked up clay and put it on the man's eyes . . .was the clay medicine? I think so. There's your answer. JMJT
It's fine to take meds to help deal with your ailment. Be at peace. After all, Luke was a Doctor. Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!
I agree with padraig. As someone who suffers from a chronic disease for many years I take what many would consider a pretty enormous amount of medications. I see many Doctors as well on a regular basis. Some have helped somewhat but to be honest, I find that when I am suffering if I offer that pain and illness up to the Lord to use according to his will He helps me to abide it with much more grace than I could ever muster myself. I have asked him countless times to take it from me but he has not. I also would recommend that you ask the Lord in prayer to direct your thinking when it leads you to think things such as this. He has helped me incredibly in this way. But, I will tell you that at times I have said this prayer it seems all day long. I have yet to have it not help me in some way. God tells us that he works best through the weak. Pray, for all things, not just your illness to get better but for others too.

It's so hard they make me feel so groggy and they spike my anxiety. I wonder is this only till they get into my system?
Often medications will have stronger side effects like drowsiness until you become more used to them. It may take a week or so to become used to it. Give it some time and keep communication open with the doctor.
Some of the meds I take have taken months (3-6 months) for them to really kick in fully S.Pellicrino and be truly helpful, hang in there and commit yourself (say it out loud and ask for the Lords help with it) to following directions just as padraig and others have said. Do yourself a favor and give it time and if you have concerns call the Doctor and speak with the head Nurse there. Also, you can speak with your Priest about it. Tell him your fears and frustrations regarding the side effects and the anxiety it causes you. He is not a Doctor but he can help you to deal with these things. One of the meds I take is a weekly shot that makes me sick for 2-3 days afterward. It is a trade off. If I refuse to take it I avoid the nausea and flu like symptoms it causes but I will pay for this after a few days time and become much sicker than had I taken them to begin with. Some of the side effects can be hard to live with but I simply make the best of it because I know that it helps. Also, my family benefits greatly from my acceptance of this because I usually have a few days each week where I can do things with them that otherwise would be completely out of the question due to pain. I am praying for you to have peace with this. I understand how hard this can be as I have gone through it for the last 25 years myself. Give your anxiety and concerns to the Lord. Ask our Blessed Mother to pray for you.

Kinda off subject although my Horrible suffering started when i got the medal that is kissed by our Lady of Garabandal. I have had many surgeries and even Cancer ..i'm still waiting for those Prodigies and miracle promises that come with it..anyway I bought up as many medals, Rosaries and Folders as i could get my hands on when Joey passed on..I bought them to give away! As soon as people knew u would do your purgatory on Earth no one wanted them..They never listened to the promise that Our Lord would work Prodigies and Miracles through these..Why am i saying this..well they cost me a lot. The only way i have been able to get them in others hands is to sell them..as no one will take one ..I even had people throw them in the Garbage..Yikes..So in selling them only people who want them get them..I have had these for over two years ..They are Authentic ..Someone on e-bay is selling false ones very cheap. If u want a medal, Rosary, or folder contact me on here as i have quite a few of each. i'am in desperate need of surgery but no one will allow me to get Insurance because it is a pre existing condition..My medal i never take off has turned Gold ..That is Our holy Mothers way of telling me she is with me Aluminum doesn't turn gold..Anyway i have seen that on here there are people who want them and cannot find them!..I have many..Please pray for me as i can barley walk and do for myself..i'am all alone with no one to help me. God bless you all..I truly believe Our Holy Mother and Our Dear Lord found this site for me as i have no idea how i came to This site it was like a Glitch and i realized this has to be Gods will for me!
Honestly, I don't think selling a few medals will pay for much health care these day's. How is it that you cannot give them away, but you can sell them? I would think it would be the opposite? I will keep your needs in prayer.
I'am not selling them to pay for Supplemental Insurance..I'm selling them because that is the only way people who want them think they can get them..No i'am giving these away to those who want them less shipping...I'm so tired of people who assume the worst of others i thought Our Lady brought me to this site because it isn't like that only to see that it is!!!
