Hi my name is Amanda. I am suffering from severe Anxiety, PTSD and Depression. On Friday, June 02 I voluntarily went to the psychiatric unit of the hospital while having a flashback. This decision was one of the worst experiences that ever happened to me in my life. The psychiatrist put me on a form meaning I wasn't allowed to leave and said he "didn't really believe in anxiety disorders" and that I should be off all my medications immediately. I have been on Paxil 40 mg for 17 years, Cymbalta 60 mg for 6 years and Clonazepam 0.75 mg for 6 years also. I tried to tell him my concerns, but he didn't hear me I guess. That started off a week and a half of horror. My "withdrawal" didn't go as planned and I had a nervous breakdown while still trapped under his care. Yesterday I was finally able to leave and I believe many prayers from others and myself to St. Dymphna was the reason I was able to leave. Right now I have restarted the Clonazepam, unfortunately needing more than before this traumatic experience, but I am still waiting on my outside psychiatrist to help me get back on my previous antidepressants because I don't know if it's safe to just start taking them fully again after a week and a half off of them. I have been praying for comfort and direction, but I am only now because of this incident returning to the faith. I had fallen away and even said and did some terrible things regarding religion. I can't believe how quickly this has brought me to my knees in desperation and humility. I am trying to be good again, but I am afraid the sins I have committed and my belief that I could live without God, has made my prayers ineffective. I beg you please to help me pray for renewed faith as well as healing and comfort regarding all the physical symptoms I am suffering with right now, as well as the mental anguish of panic attacks, non stop anxiety and this horrible feeling and belief that I am dying or going to die from this traumatic experience taking a toll on my body. Thank you in advance for reading this and for your prayers and support. I honestly don't know what shape I would be in if it wasn't for everyone's prayers. I love you and appreciate you all!

Hi Amanda, I will be praying for you. It would be a good idea to get to the sacraments of confession and the eucharist as soon as possible, this will give you great healing and protection if you have fallen into sin. God bless.

Hi Amanda. If you are praying, then you believe in God and He is listening. God loves you as his own precious daughter no matter what you think or feel and will always listen to you. Keep talking to God. Jesus, please increase Amanda's faith and please heal her of depression and PTSD and all anxiety. Bless her abundantly and give her peace and knowledge of her mission and confidence You will help her with it. Remember, whatever your sins, if you ask God's forgiveness you have it. Jesus died on the cross for all your sins, you just have to reach out to him. If you are able, please do go to confession, the priest will assure you of all these things. Daily mass is healing too.

I am praying for you Amanda and will continue to do so. I hope things will become easier for you soon,I pray that Mary will enfold you in her arms and that Jesus and Mary will comfort you and heal you.I find the rosary a great help in troubled times. I know it can be hard to pray at times but even a few hail Mary's can help to bring you close. Your prayers are not ineffective,Jesus knows and sees your heart and trust in that. I hope your healing will come soon.

    Amanda,

When I was 23, the Lord brought me to my knees so that I would finally call out to Him as a last resort. The truth is that Jesus should always be my first resort, my only resort. One of the beautiful things He has done is to have taken my many sins upon Himself:

From the 53rd chapter of Isaiah:

4 Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made us whole, and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

If you replace the plural pronouns with singular ones the meaning for you as a child of God really stands out.

4 Surely he has borne my griefs and carried my sorrows; yet I esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for my transgressions, he was bruised for my iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that made me whole, and with his stripes I am healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

    A
manda, I left v.6 untouched, because everyone of us are in the same boat- sinners in need of the mercy of Jesus. But His love is so deep and unshakable toward you. As Padraig, the founder of this Forum says: God is crazy about you.

And even though you are new here, we also love you as a sister and will be here when you need prayer and emotional support.

And remember, Jesus has given us all a Mother with a pure heart of love. Mary, take Amanda by the hand and lead her to still waters of refreshment. Jesus, may Your Mercy heal Amanda's heart!

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

    Hi Amanda,

I will start praying for you. I can really empathize with you. I used to have terrible anxiety and depression for a duration of a few years. Never believe any doctor or psychiatrist who trys to tell you it is mental or chemical imbalance. You can beat it and live free from it and live in peace. Cling to God. Go to confession, confess everything you can think of in your whole life and pray deliverance prayers. God will cure you in an instant in the right moment. Keep fighting it with all you can.

Amanda I am adding you to my prayer list. I have a suggestion I heard from a priest involved in deliverance: Please repeat as often as you need comfort and support "Jesus hide me in Your Holy Wounds". Whenever you feel Under attack from anxiety or any of your conditions pray this. He will be with you. I promise. If you have sincerely called on His Name He is there. He has wanted to be there all the time. Get to Confession for sure. And of course Holy Communion. God bless!

Amanda, I will keep you in prayer to the Flame of Love through the Immaculate Heart of Mary. May I suggest you find a good faithful priest to consult with and be very careful with the the medical "professionals" as they think drugs are the answer for everything.

    Amanda,
I have a family member that has faced a similar ordeal such as yours. I understand your helpless feeling and that feeling that you just cannot go on. But we must remember that God does things for a reason and most of the time we do not always understand. And that is okay.not to always understand. One thing that helped in our situation was to remember that the road to recovery can take time, sometimes it is 2 steps forward and one step backwards. But you must keep pulling yourself up just as Christ did when he fell three times while carrying his cross. Just because you fall sometimes, doesn't mean your losing the battle, it shows that you are still in the fight. I will be praying for you and your loved ones. It is okay to ask for help..never be afraid to ask.
