A truly wonderful article about Fatima and the Third Secret, the best I have ever read: https://onepeterfive.com/amidst-conflicting-fatima-secrets-a-clear-message-shines/ Daniel 9:24-25 24 “Seventy ‘sevens’a]">[a] are decreed for your people and your holy city to finishb]">[b] transgression, to put an end to sin, to atone for wickedness, to bring in everlasting righteousness, to seal up vision and prophecy and to anoint the Most Holy Place.c]">[c] 25 “Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One,d]">[d] the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble. Matthew 21:42-44 42 Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes? 43 Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof. 44 And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
The third part of the secret revealed at the Cova da Iria-Fatima, on 13 July 1917. I write in obedience to you, my God, who command me to do so through his Excellency the Bishop of Leiria and through your Most Holy Mother and mine. After the two parts which I have already explained, at the left of Our Lady and a little above, we saw an Angel with a flaming sword in his left hand; flashing, it gave out flames that looked as though they would set the world on fire; but they died out in contact with the splendour that Our Lady radiated towards him from her right hand: pointing to the earth with his right hand, the Angel cried out in a loud voice: ‘Penance, Penance, Penance!‘. And we saw in an immense light that is God: ‘something similar to how people appear in a mirror when they pass in front of it’ a Bishop dressed in White ‘we had the impression that it was the Holy Father’. Other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious going up a steep mountain, at the top of which there was a big Cross of rough-hewn trunks as of a cork-tree with the bark; before reaching there the Holy Father passed through a big city half in ruins and half trembling with halting step, afflicted with pain and sorrow, he prayed for the souls of the corpses he met on his way; having reached the top of the mountain, on his knees at the foot of the big Cross he was killed by a group of soldiers who fired bullets and arrows at him, and in the same way there died one after another the other Bishops, Priests, men and women Religious, and various lay people of different ranks and positions. Beneath the two arms of the Cross there were two Angels each with a crystal aspersorium in his hand, in which they gathered up the blood of the Martyrs and with it sprinkled the souls that were making their way to God. When I read this I though of Emeritus Pope Benedict! But perhaps he will be too old to even walk by the time these events occur?
Excellent article, thank you for posting. I have read the book by Zavala, besides having the amazing revelations provided by Fr Amorth and the purported Lucy letter, it is also a deep call to conversion, but is not in English yet. It ends with the Book of Love by Padre Pio (written by his assistant), which is an incredible mystical text for our contemporary times. Zavala went to my high school in Madrid. He was raised catholic but then became a star journalist working for Spain's most relevant papers elmundo, and abandoned his faith almost completely. He divorced his wife and remarried. But the newspaper sent him to investigate about padre Pio and as a consequence he had a drastic conversion, which he has explained in public very well. What is interesting is that he converted while in a second marriage and they already had kids. He realized they were living in sin and after a tense dialogue with his second wife they decided to live as brother and sister and wait until the Church spoke on his nullity case, and accept the results even if they were negative. She also converted and then the Church declared his first marriage null, after a very lengthy process about 10 years. He is an amazing witness of the faith and I trust that what he has published about the third secret is legit. In the book he makes no judgement about the authenticity of the purported letter by sister Lucy, he simply provides the evidence from the graphological study and leaves it up to the reader. Amorth's interview with Zavala, specially the part that one peter five just published regarding Padre Pio's knowledge of the Third Secret just blows my mind. To me that is pretty definitive because I trust Zavala and Fr Amorth 100%, they wouldn't lie. Amorth is someone that could one day easily be beatified and Zavala public life witness is also typical of saint. But of course, with the Rosary, penance and the fulfillment of our daily duties (love of neighbor) we can mitigate what is already underway, specially the apostasy at the top of the Church, which as Fr. Amorth says is the only thing that Padre Pio really cared about regarding the 3 secret and offered much of his sufferings for it - that is the worst part of the chastisement...
This is the best summary of everything we know that I've seen to date. Everyone needs to read this to the end, slowly and carefully.
Agreed BrianK and Padraig The article sums everything up in short order Also I have very clear memories of the day that we learned of Benedict XVI's unprecedented resignation I was on my way to the dentist (who could forget that?) And it was the topic of conversation The days we waited for the white smoke were fraught with consternation I remember clearly, and I have posted it before, that there was a glitter in Francis's eyes on the balcony and it was deeply unsettling I know it is not a scientific observation but I feel vindicated that other people perceived this as well And that it is prophetic This thread is some more confirmation
I recall being glued to EWTN in waiting for the announcement of our new pope. From the moment I saw him appear on the balcony, I was stunned at this demeanor. I could not believe his stupor look. I kept saying to myself something is wrong, yet I went right to google to find out what I could about his past. It all lead to social justice and liberation theology. I gave him the benefit of my doubt for years afterwards. I backed him often on MOG, but it took a turn for the worst when he document AL came out. He has only doubled down on his clear indifference to the truths of the Church pertaining to family and marriage issues since. I continue to pray for his awakening from his dissent and hope he will see his ways before it is to late.
This was a very good article. It brings all my thoughts on the 3rd secret of Fatima to light. We are about to see the effects of not consecrating Russia. God help those who have done the 5 1st Saturday's and who pray the Rosary daily. The popes were more afraid of the ramifications of doing the consecration then they were of God's justice for not doing so. Fear trumped trust in God that he would have quickly brought about the Triumph if it had been done as requested.
I believe it will be Pope Benedict and it will fulfill the message from the book God Speaks Will You Listen https://www.scribd.com/doc/22505473/God-Speaks-Will-You-Listen 10/17/07 "Please read the last part of Apocalypse 12:4. It states: And the dragon stood before the woman who was ready to be delivered: that, when she should be delivered, he might devour her son. Now, my people read Apocalypse 12:5: And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with an iron rod. And her son was taken up to God and to his throne. My church is to rule the nations spiritually through my vicar, the Pope. These verses are literally being fulfilled before your eyes. Pope Benedict XVI is the man child elected through the power of the Holy Spirit to rule with a rod of iron. My son, the Pope is my instrument being used to purify my church. His recent proclamations and decisions are setting my church on the narrow road to heaven. Once his mission is accomplished, he will be taken home to be with his Lord and Master. Then, my people you will see the fulfillment of Daniel 12:11: And from the time when the continual sacrifice shall be taken away and the abomination unto desolation shall be set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred ninety days and Apocalypse 12:6: And the woman ( or my church) fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, that they should feed her, a thousand two hundred sixty days. My people, prepare yourself for persecution, martyrdom, and fleeing to my refuges. Once Satan has been cast down from heaven, read what will take place. My word states in Apocalypse 12:13: And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman who brought forth the man child. Now read Apocalypse 12:17: And the dragon was angry against the woman: and went to make war with the rest of her seed, who keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. My people, Satan is going to persecute my church, since he has been cast out of my church. He is going to use lukewarm Catholics, apostate Protestants, and the antichrist to persecute my faithful Catholics. My people the time is shorter than you realize. My church is being purified. I am giving you this warning to prepare those who have ears to hear".
Reading. It's not adding up. Letter one seems fake because of source. Then letter two is just wrong. In second half of century wars so bad fire from sky oceans boil. That was 17 years ago. Nothing. Lastly Satan takes over false church? What about Jesus promise to never let that happen? None of it adds up. Well put together but lots of holes.
The gates of hell will not prevail against the CATHOLIC Church, not the false church. We have Christ's promise on that. Again, dates can be irrelevant to God in prophecy as He can use His own timetable. Read the book of Daniel about the abomination of desolation standing in the holy place.......
I agree with you regarding the 1st letter. However for the rest, does it explicitly say all this has to happen within the 20th Century or begin then? Isn't it possible that all of this has begun but that it will be completed this century? Also Satan taking over false Church does not mean the true Church will cease to exist.
Father Ratzinger (Pope Benedict) said it best: "The future of the Church, once again as always, will be reshaped by saints, by men, that is, whose minds probe deeper than the slogans of the day, who see more than others see, because their lives embrace a wider reality.... How does all this affect the problem we are examining? It means that the big talk of those who prophesy a Church without God and without faith is all empty chatter. We have no need of a Church that celebrates the cult of action in political prayers. It is utterly superfluous. Therefore, it will destroy itself. What will remain is the Church of Jesus Christ, the Church that believes in the God who has become man and promises us life beyond death. The kind of priest who is no more than a social worker can be replaced by the psychotherapist and other specialists; but the priest who is no specialist, who does not stand on the [sidelines], watching the game, giving official advice, but in the name of God places himself at the disposal of man, who is beside them in their sorrows, in their joys, in their hope and in their fear, such a priest will certainly be needed in the future. Let us go a step farther. From the crisis of today the Church of tomorrow will emerge — a Church that has lost much. She will become small and will have to start afresh more or less from the beginning. She will no longer be able to inhabit many of the edifices she built in prosperity. As the number of her adherents diminishes, so it will lose many of her social privileges. In contrast to an earlier age, it will be seen much more as a voluntary society, entered only by free decision. As a small society, it will make much bigger demands on the initiative of her individual members. Undoubtedly it will discover new forms of ministry and will ordain to the priesthood approved Christians who pursue some profession. In many smaller congregations or in self-contained social groups, pastoral care will normally be provided in this fashion. Along-side this, the full-time ministry of the priesthood will be indispensable as formerly. But in all of the changes at which one might guess, the Church will find her essence afresh and with full conviction in that which was always at her center: faith in the triune God, in Jesus Christ, the Son of God made man, in the presence of the Spirit until the end of the world. In faith and prayer she will again recognize the sacraments as the worship of God and not as a subject for liturgical scholarship. The Church will be a more spiritual Church, not presuming upon a political mandate, flirting as little with the Left as with the Right. It will be hard going for the Church, for the process of crystallization and clarification will cost her much valuable energy. It will make her poor and cause her to become the Church of the meek. The process will be all the more arduous, for sectarian narrow-mindedness as well as pompous self-will will have to be shed. One may predict that all of this will take time. The process will be long and wearisome as was the road from the false progressivism on the eve of the French Revolution — when a bishop might be thought smart if he made fun of dogmas and even insinuated that the existence of God was by no means certain — to the renewal of the nineteenth century. But when the trial of this sifting is past, a great power will flow from a more spiritualized and simplified Church. Men in a totally planned world will find themselves unspeakably lonely. If they have completely lost sight of God, they will feel the whole horror of their poverty. Then they will discover the little flock of believers as something wholly new. They will discover it as a hope that is meant for them, an answer for which they have always been searching in secret. And so it seems certain to me that the Church is facing very hard times. The real crisis has scarcely begun. We will have to count on terrific upheavals. But I am equally certain about what will remain at the end: not the Church of the political cult, which is dead already, but the Church of faith. It may well no longer be the dominant social power to the extent that she was until recently; but it will enjoy a fresh blossoming and be seen as man’s home, where he will find life and hope beyond death".

But I am equally certain about what will remain at the end: not the Church of the political cult, which is dead already, but the Church of faith. " This prophetic insight was written in 1970. It seems that the 'real crisis' is now underway but the hardest part is still ahead.
Fatima, When I first read this about Pope Benedict it was difficult to believe, I just reread some of the Briton Stigmatist about Marie Julie Jahenny and the following is from her first vision concerning France, the Great Monarch and the Holy Pope announced in many prophecies : Our Lady addressed the Holy Pope : ' At the foot of the mountain, in a rock, I see what seems to be a solitary prison and in it is imprisoned an old man with white hair, His features are resplendent. He wears a cross on his breast. The Good Master goes towards him : « My well-beloved son, martyr of Holy Church, prisoner of the Sacred Heart, rest on Me so that I alleviate your sorrows. .. dry your tears. For a long time now you carry the Cross, but soon I will give you back all your stolen rights and your freedom. Pope Benedict is not imprisoned in a solitary prison at the foot of a mountain, in a rock but I was surprised by the rest of the passage and how it could describe him. I think I always pictured the "New Pope" to be a young man.
Is all so difficult to determine. Maybe Jahenny's vision is of something completely different, IDK. It just surprised me. I should add that I pray that Pope Benedict is never imprisoned, that goes without saying.
Actually, when I toured the Vatican Gardens last year the entrance to where Pope Benedict lives has a huge rock-like waterfall with an eagle on top. I took a photo and if I was more computer savvy I could post it. It certainly could be what she saw.
Here is an interesting reflection by lawyer Francisco Sanchez Ventura (a respected author of books about Garabandal and other apparitions) on the third secret of Fatima after he read the apocalypse chapters 8 to 13 that Sor Lucia said, according to Frere Michel, relate to the Fatima message [my translation]: "All of this allows us to assume that in it [the 3rd secret] it is announced the generalized Apostasy and the arrival of a Pope that will become an antipope. Let me elaborate. This is not about the election of an antipope but rather of an authentic Pope that, contaminated by the milieu and pressured by diablic circumstances will end up faling into heresy and becoming an antipope in his way of thinking and acting. This will be the profet of the Anti-christ. The the Lord, which promised to assist his Church to which we all belong, will designate the so called mystic Pope, repeating during the Second Coming of the Lord what had happened in His First Coming: That Christ left aside the official Church, the Sanhedrin, to elect a simple and ignorant layman y and name him His representative on Earth, with those words: "You are Peter and upon this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hell will not prevail against it."...[The Third Secret] gathers without a doubt the following linked ideas: the antipope prophet of the Antichrist, the general Apostasy, and the appointement of the mystical Pope, which will fall back into a layman. That is why the Virgin often repeats: "The lay people will be the ones that save my Church." -- "Todo esto nos permite suponer —vaticinó ya en 1990— que en él se anuncia la Apostasía general y la llegada de un Papa que se convertirá en antipapa. Me explicaré. (Year 1990, referenced in Zavala, José María (2017-03-21).
