WOW! Great stuff, Crewdog! A blessed and marvelous Easter to everyone on the Forum! I'm revved 'cause I just came from an Easter Vigil where they proclaimed all ten of the readings plus all the psalms! I love hearing our salvation history and celebrating with all the baptized and confirmed! Alleluia! Jesus Christ is risen! He is risen indeed, alleluia!
Happy Easter everyone. We went tonight to Mass and the Parish was packed to the rafters. So much so that even though we were early I could find no place to park. I could not stay because I can not walk far or stand for long but it was such a joy to see so many families present for the liturgies tonight.
Padraig, This is one of my favorite non-Catholic hymns since it calls to mind how Jesus rescued me some 40 years ago! I love the pipes and strings in this version, too! I'll be thinking of all of you across the waters-as I drink my one beer in honor of St. Bridget later today! Erin go bragh! Covered by Our Lady's Mantle!
Thank you, Terry I am up in the middle of nowhere but have several gallons of homebrew beer I made over Lent for company so I will join you tonight
Padraig, Tis good and bad. Glad you'll show us the beauty! Bad that the world can intrude in even the remotest of areas. However, they can never intrude into our hearts, for Jesus reigns there and He never makes sense to the blind! John 9:39 And Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind." 40 Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?" 41 Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains."
St. Brigit's Prayer I would like the angels of Heaven to be among us. I would like an abundance of peace. I would like full vessels of charity. I would like rich treasures of mercy. I would like cheerfulness to preside over all. I would like Jesus to be present. I would like the three Marys of illustrious renown to be with us. I would like the friends of Heaven to be gathered around us from all parts. I would like myself to be a rent payer to the Lord; that I should suffer distress, that he would bestow a good blessing upon me. I would like a great lake of beer for the King of Kings. I would like to be watching Heaven's family drinking it through all eternity. How long would it take to empty a lake of beer? Ah, the springs which feed it must be of a heavenly brew, also! Safe in the Father's Arms!
John 9:39 And Jesus said, "For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind." 40 Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, "We are not blind too, are we?" 41 Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, 'We see,' your sin remains." Look out everybody, I'm on a roll. I'll blame it on Padraig. Twas 40 years ago for me! Must be that Easter fever! And I haven't even had that beer, yet! Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Happy Easter to all here. Wasn't it lovely to see Jesus back in the Tabernacle again this morning. I was so glad to enter the Church and find Him there back with us again. Thank God.
Thank you Praetorian, and although I am disappointed it is ok. One thing I have learned with dealing with illness is that I just try to take things in stride and I was just so surprised and happy to see so many people in Church where they belong. I get to go to Mass a lot and many do not.
