  1. The Church’s Stance
Not only Bishop Huibers and his successors, but also the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith occupied themselves with the events in Amsterdam.

The investigation and inquiry by the diocesan commissions were conducted over a period of years. In May of 1974, the Congregation sent a letter to the Bishop of Haarlem, the Most Reverend Zwartkruis, and published in the Osservatore Romano a notice of “non constat de supernaturalitate” which means that “the supernatural nature” is, at this point of time, “not determined”.

Twenty-two years later, in 1996, moved by many requests from home and abroad, Bishop Henrik Bomers of Amsterdam and his Auxiliary Bishop, Jozef M. Punt, decided after consulting with the Congregation, to officially allow the public veneration of Mary under the biblical title Lady of All Nations.

They did this through a notification which was published exactly thirteen years ago today, on May 31, 1996. Among other things is found the following therein:

“Distinction must be made between the apparitions/messages on the one hand and the Marian title ‘The Lady of All Nations’, on the other hand.
“At the moment the Church cannot make a pronouncement about the supernatural character of the apparitions and the content of the messages. One is free to make a personal judgement according to his or her own conscience.
“The prayer ‘Lord Jesus Christ...’ which includes the title ‘The Lady of All Nations’, has since 1951 enjoyed Church approval by Msgr. Huibers, who was Bishop of Haarlem at the time. It is our judgement that there is no objection against the public veneration of the Blessed Virgin Mary under this title.”

On May 31, 2002, the current Bishop of Amsterdam, Jozef M. Punt, made a written statement “regarding the authenticity of the apparitions of Mary as the Lady of All Nations in Amsterdam during the years of 1945-1959”.

    In his statement he wrote:

“As it is known, my predecessor, Msgr. H. Bomers and myself had previously given permission for public veneration in 1996…

“Over the period of six subsequent years, I observed that the devotion had taken its place in the spiritual life of millions all over the world, and that it possesses the support of many bishops… In full recognition of the responsibility of the Holy See, it is primarily the task of the local bishop to speak out in conscience regarding the authenticity of private revelations that take place or have taken place within his diocese.

“Therefore I have asked once again for the advice of theologians and psychologists concerning outcomes of previous investigations, and the questions and objections deriving from them… I have also requested the judgment of a number of brother bishops concerning the fruits and development of the devotion, who within their own dioceses have experienced a strong devotion of Mary as the Mother and Lady of All Nations.

“In light and virtue of all these recommendations, testimonies, and developments, and in pondering all this in prayer and theological reflection, I have come to the conclusion that the apparitions of the Lady of All Nations in Amsterdam consist of a supernatural origin.”

My understanding of the way mystical phenomena are ruled on by the Church is that they are ruled on by the Local Ordinary (Bishop) .

In the case of the apparitions at Akita they were approved by the local Bishop and are therefore Church Approved Apparitions.

That's it in a nutshell. If the Church is for it I am for it. If the Church says no , I walk away.

In this case it got the thumbs up.

I've been married for 35 years and still don't understand ladies well , but I am glad we are different! For instance, my wife, starting at Thanksgiving will watch these cheezy Christmas shows on TV every night. That is would be Purgatory for me.

But if you watched them with your wife, think how many souls you could free from Purgatory.:) My wonderful wife, Geralyn, even made up a ditty for our kids to memorize so they could offer up what frustrated them:

Let it go, save a soul; let it go, save a soul; save a soul for Jesus today... ( when singing go down on the first "Jesus today" and up on the second )

Let it go, save a soul; let it go, save a soul; save a soul for Jesus today...

Dear Mario and other Male members of The MoG forum that are married,

My poor husband is totally in the dark and is a comfort seeking individual, he has very limited spiritual knowlege, apart from what I have told him over the 35 years of our marriage [ he only became a catholic to marry me], so imagine his total annoyance at watching anything I want him to see! Let alone pray with me!

He says he loves me but to all intent and purposes he belittles everything I believe in and he seems to enjoy doing this!

Please remember he is the person that has caused all of my children to leave the faith as he constantly belittles all that I believe in!
This has been a major cross for me!

Maybe some married males on the forum could offer me a way of approach!

I spoke to my parish priest about this today in confession and all he said was to offer up all my pain with Mary! as Mary watched he son crucified and could not change the pain God had in store for her!

I would really love a husband that understood and comfoted me and I could forgive everything else!

Josephite, the purpose of Sacramental marriage is to perfect our union with our spouse so that one day we can be in perfect union with God in heaven. It's not your time to go to heaven yet, so God is letting you perfect first being in union with your husband. It's our responsibility to get our spouses to heaven. You have a very tough row to hoe, so you can look at it as God is giving you the Grace of getting your husband to heaven which sounds like it has been and will be a lot of heavy lifting for you. So you will receive more Graces then shortening your time in purgatory and hopefully bypassing it :)

Have you read The Theology of the Body? Give him Christopher West's adaption of it as it's written in plan "man" language: http://www.catholiccompany.com/theo...e=&network=g&gclid=CObb8sG_59ACFQa4wAodxiQAbQ

I cannot recall if you are in the U.S.? if yes, or in Canada, have you heard of the Marriage Encounter ministry? See if you can get him to do this with you, I think it would be helpful as it's a weekend led by faithful couples who witness to their struggles and how they learned to live the Truths of Sacramental Marriage. There's a priest that attends with you and the Sacraments are offered throughout the weekend:

After I had my come to Jesus moment at the death of my mother, a friend of her's told me after the funeral "God will take a difficult man and break him, in order to rebuild him in His own light". Mabye your husband's breaking point hasn't been reached, and all you can do is to keep bearing the cross and being faithful to your marriage vows and keep carrying him towards heaven. It won't be easy but as my dear departed Dad used to say "If getting into Heaven was easy, they'd let everyone in"

You and your husband will be on my beads, God bless :)

  9. Hi Carolyn. Praying for you to find the strength to persevere in your lonliness. Hang on in there. He's gonna cling to you like a limpet and look at you in wondrous admiration of your love and your wisdom after The Warning as will your children.

Nothing will be too much trouble for them as far as you are concerned. Not long now. I pray that they give you some of this good stuff now!

I wish I had been a better husband and I am sadly sure my ex felt like you do now. My ex is now happy with her first love and I hope your hubby comes to see the treasure he has.

Prophecies For the Latter Day Saints Our Lady and Islam

Over the past several years, one of my primary study interests besides Islam has been what Holy Scripture sometimes refers to as the “latter days”1 or “last days,”that is, the era leading up to the glorious Second Coming of Christ. My interest in this topic has led me to read several interesting resources, including two books that provide a concise yet thorough look at authentic Catholic teaching concerning the end times. Those books are Catholic Prophecy: The Coming Chastisement by Yves Dupont and Prophecy for Today: A Summary of the Catholic Tradition Concerning the End of-Time Era by Edward Connor. Both of these works present a large collection of prophecies from reliable Catholic sources, together with each author’s commentary, and cover such themes as the increased prominence of Mary prior to the Second Coming, the rise of a great Catholic Monarch, and the reign of an extraordinarily holy Pope. The definitive destruction of Islam, as you will soon hear, is foretold in the context of these specific themes. But before we explore the prophetic texts themselves, it is worth our time to hear the testimony of Mr. Dupont regarding the importance of prophecy. In the Introduction to his book, he states: Indeed, prophecies are for our edification: They cast a light on many problems; they warn us against errors; they prepare us for dangers to come; and they are a manifestation of the power of God. At the same time, they are an encouragement and a consolation. The current crisis in the Church and in the world was predicted long ago, but the final victory of the Christian forces is also predicted; this is an encouragement and a consolation.4 I’m now going to share with you a small sampling of these prophecies quoted by Dupont and Connor in their respective books, some of which are found in both, beginning with those that foretell the increased prominence of Our Lady in the latter days. This period of time is popularly referred to as the “Age of Mary” and seems to be intertwined with the reign of the Great Monarch and Angelic Pope (more on those subjects in a few moments): I. Concerning the Age of Mary Ven. Mary of Agreda (1602- 1665), the renowned Franciscan mystic from Spain who received numerous visions of the life of the Blessed Virgin, testified: It was revealed to me that through the intercession of the Mother of God all heresies will disappear. The victory over heresies has been reserved by Christ for His Blessed Mother. In the latter days, the Lord will in a special manner spread the renown of His Mother.Mary began salvation, and by her intercession it will be completed. Before the second coming of Christ, Mary, more than ever, must shine in mercy, might, and grace in order to bring unbelievers into the Catholic faith. The power of Mary in the latter days will be very conspicuous. Mary will extend the reign of Christ over the heathens and the Mohammadans, and it will be a time of great joy when Mary is enthroned as Mistress and Queen of Hearts. It is very interesting to note that in The Mystical City of God (the written account of her visions), Ven. Mary of Agreda describes how almost immediately after Our Lord’s redemptive death, the devil and his minions devised a myriad of heresies to lead souls away from Christ, including “the sect of Mahomet.” Next, we have St. Louis De Montfort (1673-1716), the veritable Apostle of Our Lady who was named Missionary Apostolic by Pope Clement XI. He stated: “The power of Mary over all devils will be particularly outstanding in the last period of time. She will extend the Kingdom of Christ over the idolaters and Moslems, and there will come a glorious era in which Mary will be the ruler and Queen of human hearts.” De Montfort wrote extensively about the increased prominence of Our Lady leading up to the Second Coming of Her Divine Son in his classic work True Devotion to Mary. The following is one such passage not included by Dupont or Connor in their respective books: “Mary must shine forth more than ever in mercy, in might and in grace, in these latter times: in mercy, to bring back and lovingly receive the poor strayed sinners who shall be converted and shall return to the Catholic Church; in might, against the enemies of God, idolaters, schismatics, Mahometans, Jews and souls hardened in impiety, who shall rise in terrible revolt against God to seduce all those who shall oppose them and to make them fall by promises and threats; and finally, she must shine forth in grace, in order to animate and sustain the valiant soldiers and faithful servants of Jesus Christ, who shall battle for His interests.”8 Notice how Ven. Mary and St. Louis both predict the ultimate demise of Islam specifically through the intervention of Our Lady. Continuing on this theme, let’s return for a moment to Archbishop Sheen’s book The World’s First Love, in which he wrote: It is our firm belief that the fears some entertain concerning the Muslims are not to be realized, but that Islam, instead, will eventually be converted to Christianity—and in a way that even some of our missionaries never suspect. It is our belief that this will happen not through the direct teaching of Christianity but through a summoning of Muslims to a veneration of the Mother of God.9 He goes on to explain that although Muslims vehemently reject the divinity of Christ, they ironically have great devotion to His Mother. In fact, there is a verse in the Quran that seems to imply belief in the Immaculate Conception, which he quotes: “Oh, Mary, Allah has chosen you and purified you, and electedyou above all the women of the earth.” [Surah 3:42]10 Finally, Archbishop Sheen makes a crucial connection between the conversion of Muslims and Our Lady of Fatima: Mary, then, is for the Muslims the true Sayyida, or Lady. The only possible serious rival to her in their creed would be Fatima, the daughter of Mohammad himself. … Since nothing ever happens out of Heaven except with a finesse of all details, I believe that the Blessed Virgin chose to be known as “Our Lady of Fatima” as a pledge and sign of hope to the Muslim people and as an assurance that they, who show her so much respect, will one day accept her Divine Son, too. … Missionaries in the future will, more and more, see that their apostolate among the Muslims will be successful in the measure that they preach Our Lady of Fatima.http://www.fatimacrusader.com/cr116/52-55.pdf

  14. Thank you Mac. A good article especially in this holy time of Advent. All of my Muslim patients proclaim Mary above all women and take care to say that this includes Fatima and speak freely of their high regard for Maryam. You must be pleased She will purge the world of heresy. I am too. I hope we live to see this Triumph. If not we may see it from heaven.

I would be interested in Duponts opinion as well. I suspect it would not be favourable. His commentaries in 'Catholic prophecy' are quite severe.

After watching a truly wonderful documentary on Medjugore this documentary appeared on my screen so intrigued I clicked and watched. Some parts are a little gruesome but from about 35 mins in I feel God is telling us this is going to be part of the chastisement heavy funding for these groups by Saudia Arabia is well under way in Europe. I do believe the makers of this documentary are quite reliable. Please watch I believe it was shown to me for a reason, that we can be even more alert.

Really? I was thinking his opinion may be favorable but who knows. I found a website by a woman who states that she has several if not all of the World Trends publications, if I can a get copy I will post it. It will be just one man's opinion but since he studied so many prophecies it interests me.

Look at page 8 of the book, his popular article "Garabandal", difficult to tell from this statement?

As the Islamists and their stooges in the UN attempt to erase the history and existence of Israel, the more, of late, historical evidence is uncovered to thwart the above. Mere coincidence? I'm not one of those Replacement Theology types and I believe that The Chosen People still have a big role to play ... maybe soon!??

I found this website http://jeanneshouseafire.blogspot.com/2014/11/summary-of-expected-chastisement.html where the owner of the website claims to have posted much of Yves Dupont work called, "The Prophecies La Fraudais". If this the truth it appears that Mr. Dupont did believe in Garabandal. I would prefer to see the actual book and the article which I spoke of but this is all that I could find so far and I thought that you might be interested.
