How cool is that? Our God is an awesome God :) (even if it was just a weather phenomenon)

    They are God's Chosen People. I don't know why, I don't care, It's God's Will so be it :)

Remember the many miracles of the 6 Day War? There were so many instances, there's no way they were just coincidences. From the start when the Israeli's went in and decimated the superior Egyptian Air Force on the ground, the Jordanian's picked the Israeli raid up on radar but somehow the radar operator had the wrong code book for that day and the word never got to Egypt and they were wiped out before they even started.

The few Egyptian pilots who got in the battle said they had the Israeli advance caught out in the open desert and when they fired their missles "their God directed them to go harmlessly into the sea". Then a fog bank appeared out of nowhere and the Israeli's escaped. Read the Egyptian pilot's accounts of what occured.

The 18 year old Israeli recruit who fell into a trench and his rifle went off by accident wildly in the enemy trench and his platoon wound up capturing 1000 enemy troops.

the stories are amazing and for those that have eyes to see and ears to hear, no explanation is necessary:

Yes, there is something about the Chosen people. I was talking to an Orthodox Jewish , Avrem , friend in Jerusalem one time. We were ahving a few drinks when we started of course to talk about religion (never a wise thing to do with drink)
    Anyway Avcam said,

    'We are the Chosen People.'

I had to think about that but I had to agree with Avram they are the Chosen People even if they do deny Christ.

I know, that's such a mystery to me. Why are they the Chosen People when they deny Christ? He will show us in due time and it'll make sense, till then I just keep my head down and Trust God, surely He has a plan and one day we can smack our heads and go "oh that's why!"

I told you before I like the idea of having a drink in an Irish pub some day with you (Jameson for me, but I know to you Irish whiskey pros that's like you guys saying you'd like to have an American beer like Budweiser) and discussing religion and hearing your stories about your youth and the troubles, I think we were a lot alike as young men, but me in Chicago running with the Chicago Irish :)

Actually Jamisons and Guinness is my favourite. Though a friend said to me the other day that the only reason to drink whiskey is to get drunk. :) He may be right.

It was the Irish monks who brewed whiskey who gave it its name , 'The Waters of life', uisce beatha.

  7. They are the chosen people because from all the people on earth God chose them to build the bridge to heaven - Jesus.

I think as Our Lady and Our Lord often says to people they choose they visit, 'I choose you because I couldn't think of anyone worse to come to', so with the Hebrews..God exalts Himself in our own weakness.

    2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me.

I visited Masada when I was there. Now there is a story any Irish person would love.

The Chosen people bothers me yes I know it's in the scriptures. The terrible atrocities the chosen people have suffered throughout the ages and now the Chosen people do the exact same to the Palestinian people. I've seen the most horrid photos and videos of the way the Chosen People persecute these the Palestinians it just doesn't not sit well with me. I've watched interviews with Jewish and Palestinian people saying they remember when the land was shared how they were good neighbours to each other how they looked after each others children. Then the Palestinians were pushed from their homes the land into what is now very much a Ghetto of Ghettos. Their children are dragged from the streets parents often don't ever know what has become of them.
Only recently I saw a video posted on facebook of Israeli soliders burying Palestian people alive including some young children it was very disturbing, and all the while I'm saying THESE are the Chosen People HOW. when they were so persecuted themselves how can they do what they do to the Palestinians ????
I struggle a lot with this CHOSEN PEOPLE it goes against everything Our Holy Mother preaches and what God represents. Are we absolute in the Chosen People.

  10. Are you having fun or did Jesus and Mary actually say this to the saints. What a hoot. Who were they?

By the same logic the question can be posed to the Christians....millions of abortions, wars , economic exploitation, pornography, pedophilia, adultery, divorce, alcohol and drug addiction, theft, murder. Can we deserve to be called children of Gods family? Yes we can....through the merits of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. The Jews are the firstborn....this is their birthright and no one can take that away from them.

Very true regarding Christians we are and should be Children of God and we should do our utmost to behave God like but we do not and we do not use as an excuse we are children of God to carry out any of the above behaviours. Yet the Chosen People use those very words to justify their actions and feel no shame. I am sure the majority if not all practicing or conscieious Christians feel shame when they do wrong against the Lord and may repent. Christian's are the people who broke away from the Jews in order to worship one God as the Jews did suggest to satisfy those of them who did believe that Jesus was the son of God that they could have 2 God's which outraged those who did eventually pull away to become Christians. I am not anti Jewish please believe this, but being honoured as to be the Chosen People please respect what has been bestowed trust that God almighty himself said he will protect Israel and it is Israel I believe that is truly Chosen maybe not so much the ones who carry out the genocide.
I would love nothing more than to see Israel at peace and the people of israel set the highest example of love for all others. No matter who we are we all deserve to be humane and receive humanity. I do believe certain religions have got it wrong but love still lies within them and it's the one thing that is neglected most love of God and love of each other.
God bless us all because no one knows more than God himself how much we need that blessing.

The Jews were the Chosen People in the Old Testament - but wasn't that kind of switched over to the Christians (Gentiles) in the New Testament? Not that the Jews aren't still the Chosen People.. just that since they rejected God's Son, the graces if you will, were given over to Christians(?) Just my very simple understanding of this. Though I do believe that when Christ reveals Himself, the Jews who reject Jesus, will repent and convert and end times events will still hinder upon the Jews.

Concerning the Chosen ones I've come to understand that the Jews are the prodigal son. I heard this on a Catholic bible study online by Carson Weber who studied theology at Franciscan University. It's https://catholicboard.com/

On one of the studies he talks about the prodigal son. He talks about the Jews being the prodigal son and the Gentiles are the faithful son. I had never thought of this story in this way. It made sense to me. This bible study is really great and it's free online.

    God Bless!

Christians are God's Chosen people under the new and everlasting covenant in Jesus. A covenant open to all. The covenant was for the Jews first and many converted but some rejected Him.
The Jews were called first and get credit for that. But there is a difference between the Jewish religion and Semitic Jews of the past. It's estimated that 10-15% of modern Jews were ancestors of the original Jews called by God. They look just like Palestinians, just as Mary and Jesus would have. Most modern day Jews are decendants of the Kharzars that converted to judaism around 800. DNA tests are proving this. Jews aren't a race. White skin Jews are mostly European decendants. True Jews fear God and follow His commandments just as we are called to do. They must convert and accept Christ since his He has the key and all will past through Him first before getting to the father.

So it's not so as simple as most would like it to be. You can't simply say Bible say jew and modern person says jew and they are exactly the same. If true anyone could convert and claim to be God's chosen. Jesus changed everything.

This isn't an anti Jew statement, please don't take it that way.

2 Jewish families are around when Jesus suffered and died. One family moved by the messages, miracles and love of Jesus convert to follow Him as their God. Their decendants in the 1000's or 100's of thousands are Christians now (not all certainly!) and no less decendants of the Jews. The other reject Him as a false prophet and refuse to accept God's son given to them as savior and even support killing Him so as to end His influence. God is going to label these people as His chosen ones. Who does He pick?

Sorry if facts get in the way of ideology. It's not even an argument. Jesus changed everything.

Aattack the message, please and answer the question. Or do the small thing and attack the messenger.

    Padraig,

The Lord once said to me, about 15 years ago.......... Pray for my church!

    I said........yes Lord I am!

He then said.......... pray for my people! my chosen people who are my church? I questioned the Lord because I knew He was refering to the Jewish race?

    To make a long story short;

The Lord showed me that we, the members of the Catholic Church are His People but He also showed me that part of his Church are the Jewish people!

I did not understand this at that time, so the Lord showed me a person who had a paralysed limb! [it was a paralysed arm] and he said.....

"You see this limb, it is still alive! because it receives the life giving blood that runs through the veins of the body! This limb does not recognize where its life comes from, but still it remains a viable part of the body of this person!"

So too my chosen people! at the moment they are a paralysied limb receiveing the life giving nourishment that flows from the body of my Church.

    Catechism of the Catholic Church:
The relationship of the the Church with the Jewish people. When she delves into her own mystery, the Church, the People of God in the New Covenant, discovers her link with the Jewish People, " the first to hear the Word of God." The Jewish faith, unlike other non-Christian religions, is already a response to God's revelation in the Old Covenant. To the Jews "belong the sonship, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises; to them belong the patriarchs, and of their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ, "for the gifts and the call of God are irrevocable."
