My absolute favourite Saint! St Josemaria Escriva

Here is an excellent video of him with English subtitles:

  4. A favourite saint of mine too. It was a member of Opus Dei called Michael who first introduced me to Garabandal in the 70s. It is recorded that this great saint once visited the village. I never joined OD. Perhaps that was a mistake. I wonder how many forum members are OD. We will never know as they keep their apostolate quiet. As my brother used to quote "anonymity is the spirit of sacrifice."

  6. Yeah but they are still encouraged, quite wisely imho, not to speak about their paricular calling except to their spiritual director. I may have the wrong word in 'apostolate."

Did you hear...Gods will through our ordinary life. :)

  8. I heard. I did not mean collective apostolate but the unique and private way each individual is called to live out the Faith: our own mission in life. Sorry I was not clear.....like my mirror.... I still look through a glass darkly.....but you and St JoseMaria are of course correct - we are all called to be saints. How many are chosen, how many make the grade? Few we are told.

    Hello Joe,

That quote was from the video. So simple but it took a saint from the 20 century to bring it to life. That is how the Holy Spirit works. As for dark glasses, we all our :)...some on Mog more then others. But we are all still saints.

How many are CHOSEN? I think lots are chosen. The better question is how many accept the calling. And by accepting the calling meaning...how many give up their will to GOD. I think their are many who have been called and have asked GOD to wait or have said no. Not sure they are bad in and of themselves... but they could not accept cross.

So i guess many are called but few accept. :(

    Interesting topic, thank you

May we all accept the calling

    May God Bless You Joe
